Joshua gets drugged [S1E0]

Just adding a topic to the events board so we can get started.

So in the first episode (can we count episode zero as the
'first' episode?) Twilli wrote that I got drugged, and I had no
idea why or what for. None of us seemed any wiser about this
anyway, so I'm beggining to wonder what the significance of the
entire series is by starting off with me out cold in a canyon in
the middle of nowhere surrounded by a bunch of people nobody is
going to know.
I'm thinking perhaps, it's some other organization. Not an
utterly shady, evil corporation - but one with nowhere near as
good intentions as say, the UNSC (United Nations Space Command,
more or less the human army). Generally the UNSC's goal is to
eradicate the Covenant (alien) forces, and end the war. An
honorable intention. Perhaps this company's goal is not quite
that - they not siding with the aliens per say, but they don't
want to kill them. Infact, this group would like to keep the
aleins alive to examine them, steal their technology, use their
knowledge to better the human race. Not a dark intention, but
not exactly the mainstream belief amongst humans. I could post
more in the characters section on this organization to expand on
them and not avert this topic, if people accept this idea and
would like to impliment it.
In the nine months we've been in this canyon, we do socialize
with aleins. Perhaps we've also attracted the interest of this
lesser organization, and they want us to cooperate with them and
give them information and use us to get to the covenant.
Somewhere along the line, perhaps this relationship between us
and them goes sour, and they end up drugging me to kidnap me and
get the information they want out of me - and somehow, they
fail, leaving me to end up in the canyon not to far from our
"base".
So, do you guys like this or have any other ideas?

I'm not sure if that explanation would be easy to explain in
later episodes without shoving in metric f***tons of exposition.
Not that I have a better idea. But maybe something a bit less
complex? Perhaps we were recently in a battle, you were wounded,
and we had to give you lots of anesthetics because we don't
exactly have a medic on the team. Or is Nicola the medic?

Well, we don't need to explain it outright in the future
episodes - at first, it's good to have a mystery about these
people. Then, remember we're nine months ahead. It could always
be explained when we go back to the first nine months (which is
what Twilli and I planned to do) after we're finished here.
Besides, an organization wanting to steal alein technology isn't
too hard to explain.
No, I don't think that would work - nobody knows what's happened
with me, do they? We need someone/thing else to have done this
to me, perhaps even myself. And you're right, we don't have a
medic. And no, Nicola's a scientist, not a doctor. If anybody?
Probably Jake. With all his hippy stuff - oh, he also has a
Trauma Kit utility. It's like a giant first aid kit. But I don't
think Jake is really a doctor either. That's kinda disturbing.
