       Unnamed Story Arc/s?
By: Joshua Date: September 5, 2011, 8:59 am
       ---------------------------------------------------------
I didn't exactly know how to write this up, so shoot me later if
       this topic makes no sense.
We uhm, we have a plot. Kinda. A semi-plot. The goal is to
figure out how to get home. Home being Earth (I guess). I don't
know if we've established where exactly we are in these past
nine months - we probably have an idea.
Although the goal is to get back home, what's the sub-plot? And
what about the stuff that happens in between? Ideas?
Suggestions? Namely stuff we can use straight off the bat for
early episodes, such as E1 or E2. Kthanx.
We got the shady corporation people. Not sure if we'll use them,
and if at all, not until further episodes. Also, we do have
heretic covenant on our side I think. There are two types of
Elite - Heretics and Loyalists. Loyalists are the mainstream
elites that kill humans, fight people, our enemy, work for the
Covenant, etc. Heretics are Elites who aren't part of the
Covenant and the Loyalists infact kill them. So we have a common
enemy. Perhaps we can use these Heretics early on.
Any other ideas at all for story?

First of all, we could encounter some strange aliens unlike we
anticipated and have a whole subplot worrying about / trying to
figure out what to do about that.
Discovering some mysterious place we didn't know was there that
ends up giving us a tiny, tiny bit of information about whatever
it is we're up against could be interesting. Also, we could find
some sort of artifact or mysterious object that I then take and
over the course of several episodes, attempt to identify what it
       is.
We could get ourselves into a mildly sticky situation, like
getting ambushed, tied up, and brought somewhere, but we break
free because of one member's thoughtfulness or strength or speed
       or whatever.
We could face some sort of giant obstacle and disagree on how to
get past it, which then makes the obstacle even more difficult
to get past, and we end up having to work together and use a
combination of all of our techniques to defeat/destroy/get past
it, proving the importance of teamwork.
Our food and/or water runs out and we have to search for more or
something to replace it, needing to find something edible before
we all pass out from hunger or dehydration. It might be
something incredibly hard to find, or something that had been
everywhere from the very start but we hadn't realized was there.
My scientist instinct will probably kick in enough to know to
follow animals to find out where they get their food and water
to survive. Though, since these are alien animals, that might
not work out as well as planned.
We meet a large creature that it is Quinn and Jake's first
instinct to kill, but we then find that it's a friendly alien
and that he's wounded. We help him out and he gives us some
handy bit of information or agrees to lead us somewhere that
would be helpful, or give us food, or something like that.
We could steal some quests off of PJOR and modify them to make
sense in the Halo world rather than the Pokemon world. If you
look in some of the obscure places nobody's been to yet, you'll
       probably find some good ones.
Later on, we could meet some other people from PJOR who weren't
included in our main team, let them make cameos or join us for
an episode, etc. This wouldn't be a good idea to use too early
on, because it's best to let people get to know our team before
adding extra members, but later could be an interesting sub
       plot.
That's all I've got for right now. I'll edit this post or post
again later if I think of anything more.

@Nicola Most of those were awesome ideas that I can really work
with to write into the scripts. So thanks for that.
Strange Aliens - Maybe. The only *playable* alein race in Halo
are the Elites, but obviously we can do without having to *act*
the aliens. Perhaps it could be tales we hear from that wounded
alien, tales of another alien race that even they, as stronger,
faster, and smarter than humans as they are, fear it?
Mysterious Artifact - Good. It's nice to have some mystery
about, and it just seems right for you to be constantly working
on something. I think we can use this.
Sticky Situation - I don't really want to write this event /
fight strictly for the purpose of fighting. It's good and all,
but fights that make no sense - even if we write it in properly,
aren't really supposed to go like that. In a story, a fight
should be used as appropriate, if you get what I mean. You write
an event and if it has a fight to go with it, it does. You don't
write a fight then write some event to go with it. Doesn't work
like that. But sure, if we ever do get into a fight later (which
we doubtlessly will) then I'll try to incorporate everybodies
traits and qualities to expand their character.
Giant Obstacle - Nice idea. Not entirely sure what this obstacle
or danger could be, however, I'll keep this one in mind as well.
Supply Shortages - That's the first time I think anybody has
ever actually written something like this into a machinima.
Spartans aren't machines, they're people. They've got to eat. To
sleep. To survive. Definately using this at some point.
Alien Creature - Yea, like this one too. Should incorporate this
with the alien threat thing I wrote first.
PJOR Quests - Not too sure about that. Maybe?
Cameo Users - Oh, definately. Already had plans to bring in much
more people. Volcan, for one. And Grace will be added later,
possibly even Claw; although I don't know about others who may
not be able to supply their voices. We'll just have to see. :3

I know we should probably use the ideas separately in order to
stretch out the series, but I keep combining them. XD
For example, while Nicola obsessively tinkers with the
Mysterious Object, our team has the Food Shortage and starts to
eat things from the alien planet. With Nicola occupied, none of
us know what's safe to eat, but some of us are heedless enough
to try it anyway. Hilarity ensues while unsuspected side-effects
kick in, such as poison, hallucination, comas, etc. The rest of
the group then finds the Alien Creature, and while we would like
to kill and eat it, it proves to be friendly and wounded. The
creature is healed, and in return it tells us where to find the
antidote to whatever we ate. This ends with us returning to
camp, where Nicola has to be filled in on the details because
she wasn't paying the slightest attention. The device is
constantly distracting her in several later episodes until she
finally cracks its code... only to find that it's a simple,
       empty puzzle-box.

We should have our own episode. Because I say so.

       so.[/quote]
...It took me a bit of time to realize that you meant "We should
[each] have our own episode." But I really like this idea! By
this, do you mean that everyone gets to play the hero in at
least an episode each, or do we get separated and have to fend
for ourselves? Or am I completely off the mark?
EDIT: Also, I've been snooping around PJOR, as Nicola suggested,
and I predictably didn't get through them all. But here are some
that I was able to convert.
-Two members fight over a trivial object.
-A tiny, annoying alien creature seems to take a liking to the
       group and follows.
-Something extremely crucial (like food, weaponry or a map) is
       lost due to carelessness.
-Being on an alien planet means being exposed to alien disease.
       Medicine must be found.
-The group meets a savage Spartan who was left there by his team
       years ago.

Yeah, I was kinda tired when I wrote that. And yes, we each have
an episode where you are the main character, doing whatever they
do best while having randomness mixed in. Whether the characher
is with a group of people or not can depend on what they are
       doing in the episode.

Okay, I don't see why not. However, one condition. You write
your own episode and submit it here for everybody to chip in
       with their two cents. Deal?

On Dan's Idea.. Couldn't we do one of Valve's 'Meet the..' type
scenarios? I think it'd work better than us randomly having our
own episodes. Unless, of course, something (teleporter failure,
overloads, sends us all to different places?) splits us all up.
Which in itself is another decent story arc. Hm, and we could
(of course) end up in a situation in which were not exactly the
       best at.
Josh - Solo work, in a foreign area. Lots of hostiles looking
for blood. "Okay.. Where am I? Maybe I should go ask those El-
       *Plasma whips by* Or not."
Quinn - In a small base, with several snipers as the only
weapon. Being heavily pounded by hostile snipers. "HOW THE F**K
       DO I USE THESE THINGS?!"
Nicola - Run and gun scenario. Plain open fields, with several
trained covy assassins. "Um.. Those guys don't look too
friendly... *Raises Gun* How do I aim this thing again?"
Dan - CQC, against one/two Covenant Zealot. "Help me Na~!" (Yes
a Narah reference, which we could at several points include
references to my, erm, other selves?)
Jake - A situation requiring great patience. Perhaps obstacle
course? "Where the hell did that axe blade come from?"
Yours truly - Considering my character being jack of all
trades, I think it should just be plain out being in a room with
no real way out. That sounds like total fun! Unless of course
you guys have another idea.. "How much f**king longer am I going
       to sit in this room?!"
