North Highland Way - a community project
Tina Irving <tinadirving@gmail.com>

to Joan, MacKenzie, Matt, North, Stephanie, Northwest,
Communications, gavin.carr174
Dear all,
As the North Highland Way is a community project, in that is not
funded in the normal manner, I thought that it would be useful
to introduce you all.
Friends of the North Highland Way, Thurso Development Trust and
the North Sutherland Forestry Trust as well as the North West
Geopark who we hope will join us as a Friend of the North
Highland Way and send me an email to say "hi".
MacKenzie Sutherland - Ward Manager who is assisting by seeing
the community councils with the consultation and specification
for the North Highland Way, and Matt Dent, Highland Council
Access Officer.
I have asked Joan Lawrie if she can assist with matters with the
West Caithness Community Council as there is a particular
requirement for a route around Dounreay to get people off the
road. As this is not core path, it is not the Council's
responsibility to develop this part of the route. I am also
copying a gentleman at Vulcan and hope he can assist. Dounreay
is copied here.
My input is to the Local Access Forums, and the development of
two more climate change festivals as per my updated web site.
The reporting structure is through Matt Dent and I at Local
Access Forums, the one for Caithness is in September, and for
Sutherland on 2nd October. I hope you will all assist the
Council in this project, as Matt Dent in particular, has put in
a phenomenal amount of effort over and above his role. For
myself, in the summer I will be marketing for Green Destinations
and my course using my equestrian magazine, and the
Environmental News out next week. This is not paid, it is
therefore community effort.
I have my meeting with OREF next week but nothing about the
North Highland Way will be made public without the express
permission of the Board.
Kind regards.

Dear all,
HIE will not overrule the law on my watch. They will not launch
projects without consultation, and then sell them off to the
highest bidder, leaving the Highland Council with the bill. I
will advise Police Scotland myself, I am already in touch with
them. They have no intention of having a 12 week consultation
period, or so it would seem.
