       Dear both
       You have both tried to help, Phil with the proposed quotation
       (appreciate it was a short time frame. It is likely that this
       work will go to Orkney companies, as the Caithness & Sutherland
       Rangers don't appear to be interested).
       Matt with the steering group last week and everything else over
       the years.
       I am the person in the County who can make HIE and Dounreay toe
       the line, and Nature Scot agree. I think probably VisitScotland
       do as well.  They have no time for Venture North either, as far
       as I can see. HIE will not cause you further expenditure as they
       have been doing. Transport Scotland will back the sustainability
       festival as do Green Destinations.
       The reason I can only come to the Access Forums is to impart
       this information, so you can invite me on as an ad hoc member to
       both providing Mac gets the input from the Community councils
       and gives that to you as well.
       It is the only way we can operate without funding and until I
       get it, it all I can do.  Or be paid for one off jobs such as
       the problem at Yarrows I just resolved for you, if you take it
       forward.
       Here is the current list of Friends of the North Highland Way
       It's growing all the time. I am hoping Durness will join us, and
       the Tongue Hotel, but not heard from either of them, except for
       the Tongue Hotel to let me know about David Whiteford.   NHI
       will not take this project from me either.  I have supplied the
       specification to HIE along with my business plan, so they have
       no reason not to fund now.  As you know HIE back NHI with public
       money.
       Food for thought, and we will catch up in September at the LAF.
