I have been playing about now for over two weeks with the new
Windows 10, and overall i am quite impressed. As usual with each
new OS they put out MS seem to remove or Hide (well make it
difficult to find them) some of the features we liked.
But i got thinking what if you really don't like the new 10 and
want to return, how is it done. well hopefully below is the
answer.
One thing to note, during the upgrade Windows creates a new
folder in your root directory (this means C: drive usually)
called Windows.Old. this is where it stores all the files and
bits of your previous system. Now a bit of investigation
confirms the wording in the document below that states WINDOWS
WILL DELETE THE WINDOWS .OLD FOLDER AFTER ONE MONTH which means
you will not be able to go back after this time. Now this will
be a seriously large folder and it would make sense to remove it
after a given time to free up HDD space but it think there maybe
a possibility that if you copy this folder to an external HDD
then you may be able to put the file back in a few months and
still be able to revert to Win7 or WIn 8.1........i do stress
MAYBE because there may be other factors involved, anyway you
have nothing to lose by making a copy.
