Beware - These Could Take a While

These are (or could be) long running tasks. And we are not
talking about the time it takes to be able to do these tasks, we
are talking about the time it takes to complete them once you
are able to do them. As you plan to do each task set, read over
these tips and start these early, as soon as you can do them.
That way, they can be close to being done as you complete the
other tasks in the set.
Ardounge Tasks:
You're the Dirty Rascal - Be on the winning side in a game of
Castle Wars
A Taste of the Exotic - Pick a papaya or coconut from the fruit
tree patch near Tree Gnome Village
Start this task early as it takes 16 hours for the tree to
grow.
Catching Some Rays - Catch a manta ray in the Fishing Trawler
activity
This can be a frustrating task as the Fishing Trawler activity
is rerely used any more. We tried a clan event day to help
people with this task. It went ok, but we can have more as
necessary. Surviving the voyage is quite a task for solo, so I
would recommend getting a group together. Make a request in the
clan chat, and I'm sure members will join you and help you
complete this task :)
Daemonheim Tasks:
I want it All - Gain the Beast Mode title on a complexity 6
floor solo
To earn the Beast Mode title, all resources on the critical
path must be depleted. Boosts can be utilised if you lack the
necessary levels to harvest any of them. This is easiest to
achieve on a small floor. Resources that count towards getting
the Beast Mode title include fish (Fishing), branches
(Woodcutting), textiles (Farming), wisps (Divination), and ore
(Mining). It is not necessary to trap mastices.
This task could take some time as you will need to make sure
you did not miss any resources.
Up to the Gods - Sacrifice a Frost dragon (Daemonheim) bone on
a prayer altar from a dragon you killed yourself in a solo
dungeon
Frost dragons can only be encountered on frozen floors.
This can be a time consuming task in that it might take a
while to encounter a frost dragon. Once I did, though, he was
easy to defeat. The problem then became finding an altar to
offer the bone on. You are able to convert the gate stone in
the starting room to an altar with the right supplies and
construction level.
Kinprovements - Wear a ring of kinship with a fully upgraded
role. e.g. Tank, Medic
This is not a difficult task, just a long one.
It will cost a total of 323,215 tokens to fully upgrade any
given role to level 10. Without tokens from Sinkholes or
Fremennik Sagas, this will equate to at least level 85
Dungeoneering. You must remove the ring and re-equip it for the
task to register. You must also select the "Switch-to" option on
the ring customization menu to turn on the maxed role.
Sinkholes, Sagas, and event tokens from Treasure Hunter chests
will help greatly.
The biggest problem with this task is resisting the urge to
spend the tokens on other rewards rather than saving up for the
upgraded role. But let me tell you, it's worth it. Completing
the tasks will better equip you to gain more tokens in the
future.
Epic Epic - Complete all Sagas with 100%
The sagas are like mini-quests. They aren't too difficult.
The trouble comes when you need to make sure you complete all
the optional parts for 100% completion. Start working on these
early so that you have other tasks you can do when you feel
frustration coming on.
Desert Tasks:
Nipped in the Bug - Use a Dreadnip on the Kalphite Queen
You need 450 kills in the Dominion Tower and have a dreadnip
to release. This only works on the regular Kalphite Queen, not
the Exiled Kalphite Queen.
1001 Kharidian Spikes - Harvest spines from a cactus you grew
yourself
Sun Shade - Plant the Dominion marker in the desert, with all
its achievements complete, including killing Sunfreet
Falador Tasks:
It Spoiled My View - Cut down a Yew tree or Magic tree that you
grew in Falador Park
You can pay the Farmer 10 cactus spines to ensure it doesn't
die. The tree may be chopped at 59 or 58 Woodcutting by using an
Axeman's folly or it's mature counterpart, respectively. Paying
to have the farmer chop it down does not work - you must chop
the tree down yourself.
The trees take 380 and 460 minutes to grow, respectively.
I Swear I Heard It Scream - Chop down a magic tree grown in
your tree patch in Falador Park
I've Changed My Mind! - Use a summoned hydra to regrow a tree
in your patch in Falador Park
Grow a Magic tree (460 minutes), chop it down, then use a
hydra to regrow.
This should take care of these 3 tasks.
Fremennik Province Tasks:
A Periodic Table - Get mahogany from your Etceterian subjects
37,500 coins for one day with 100% approval should yield 1
mahogany log.
Totally Livid - Unlock the first spell by helping out on the
Livid Farm
The Livid Farm might take some people a while to earn up the
necessary points for the first spell.
Limber Lumber Jumper - Complete the high-level section of the
Barbarian Agility course while wearing an agile top
This is not a hard task, just very tedious to do the laps to
get the Agile Top.
I used summer pies to get the top a few levels before I could
without.
Karamja Tasks:
They like Me! They Really Like Me! - Earn 100% favour in the
village of Tai Bwo Wannai
Scourge of Scurvy - Grow a healthy Fruit tree in the patch near
Brimhaven
Fruit trees can take hours to grow.
Flawless Victory - Become the champion of the TzHaar Fight Pit
This can be as simple as finding someone to let you beat them
in the pit. Could take you minutes or hours.
The Power of Lava - Equip a TzHaar fire cape (or a TokHaar-Kal)
while standing within TzHaar City
Getting the fire cape is a very long process. Whether you are
skilled at combat or not, it still takes a while to make it
through the fight caves to Jad. Even when you get there, you
have a pretty difficult fight ahead of you. I was lucky enough
to make it to Jad with an insta-kill dart.
It's a Snap - Create a super restore potion from scratch while
in Brimhaven
- Earn at least 10 Agility arena tickets and purchase a
snapdragon from Pirate Jackie the Fruit
- Use any red spiders' eggs. They do not need to come from
the Karamja volcano
- Mix the potion while inside Brimhaven.
Getting the arena tickets can make this task long if you
aren't quick enough or start to get frustrated.
Just keep it up, and you'll get it in no time.
Ten In a Row - Earn 75+ Slayer points from a single slayer task
assigned by Lapalok
Simple, just complete a tenth slayer task (10th, 20th, 30th,
etc.) from Lapalok, right? It can be. But you don't know which
task number you are on until you complete one. So to be safe,
just keep choosing your next task from Lapalok until you get the
75 points.
Morytania Tasks:
Wurt A Bundle - Harvest limpwurt in the farming patch near Port
Phasmatys
It's ideal to start the task by planting a Limpwurt seed at
the flower patch first. Using Supercompost is advised.
Fun Guy But Bitter - Harvest bittercap mushrooms in the farming
patch near Canifis
You will need a Bittercap mushroom spore. This can take up to
240 minutes (4 hours) to grow.
Shade-Shattering Ka-Bloom - Cast Bloom using a Flail of Ivandis
upgraded with at least 200 burnt vyre corpses
As Good As Renew - Farm and mix the ingredients for a prayer
renewal potion entirely in Morytania
Thoroughly A-Ghast - Summon a ghast familiar in Morytania
Get every follower in Temple Trekking & Burgh de Rott Ramble
to level 99.
This could take a while.
Seers' Village Tasks:
King Coal - Transport a full load of coal to Seers' Village
A full load is 224 coal.
Arch Archer - Have the Ranging Guild competition judge
congratulate you for acquiring over 1,000 Archery tickets
Bring some coins for the entrance fee (200 coins per game).
Players with a high Ranged level with good bonuses, may likely
play about 40 games before obtaining 1,000 tickets so bring
6.000 to 10,000 gp with you to pay for the multiple tries it
will take. Lower-level players may have to play closer to 100
games, so bring 20,000 gp. (Tip: You can buy 1,000 tickets from
the GE for a very low cost, talk to the judge and complete the
task that way.)
Varrock Tasks:
It Belongs in a Museum - Speak to Haig Halen after obtaining at
least 50 Kudos
Completing quests will earn the kudos.
With a Ten-foot Pole - Get a full complement of Rats on your
Rat pole
Master Scrumper - Pick a White tree fruit from the White tree
Not sure why this was considered a long running task...
Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill! - Get a Cat training medal from
Gertrude
For some, catching 100 rats is a crazy tedious task. Ask in
the clan chat if anyone would like to join you while you catch
them.
Burning Bush - Pick poison ivy from your bush Farming patch in
Varrock near Champions guild
Poison Ivy takes just shy of 3 hours to grow.
Kudos on the Kudos! - Speak to Orlando Smith or Mark Brodie
when you have achieved 153 kudos
It All Adze Up - Using an inferno adze, incinerate a log cut
from a tree you've grown in Varrock Palace's tree patch
Oak is the cheapest tree and will grow the fastest; a basket
of five tomatoes can be used to protect it.
The tree takes 200 minutes to grow.
Double Jointed - Complete a large job at the sawmill
Tirannwn Tasks:
Papa Pawya - Trap a pawya in the elven lands using a papaya you
have harvested from your own tree
Takes roughly 16 hours for the tree to grow.
Also, pawyas are not so easily trapped.
Sing-Along-a-Seren Verse 6 - During the Meilyr Voice of Seren:
Craft a perfect juju farming potion using moss you harvested
yourself
Growing the moss requires 200k xp in one of the skills that
the pillars are expecting. Bonus xp does not count, making this
a lengthy task. Also, you have to pick the moss during the time
the voice is focused on Meilyr, so if you pick it at the wrong
time, you have to grow it again.
Hefin And Puffin' - Take a shortcut on the Hefin Agility Course
You will receive a green message in your game dialog box when
the shortcut is available.
This could take a while.
Disco Impling - Do a dance in the Impling Collector's house
with at least ten other implings present
Depending on your hunter level, finding 10 different imps
might be time consuming.
Can I have some Morvran - Complete a Morvran slayer assignment
that has been both preferred and extended
Getting the slayer points to extend the task could be time
consuming as well as completing the extended task.
Xena-Phile - Sing an attuned crystal weapon from an attuned
seed in the Ithell area of Prifddinas
Start collecting the dust early as you may want 2k dust for a
better attuned weapon than the ones at 1k.
Respect Your Elders - Chop a log from an elder tree you have
grown in the Prifddinas farming patch, then fletch it into a
shortbow
The elder tree takes 70 hours to grow.
Properly Metal - Clear wave 15 in a Gold or Platinum wave of
the Rush of Blood D&D
The minigame has to be a reward run in order to count. This
means a player only gets one chance per week (or two when using
weekly D&D tokens). Practice runs do NOT count.
With only 10 minutes to complete wave 15 plus NPCs that are
weak to various combat, this task is very difficult to do. With
the ability to only do this activity once or maybe twice a week,
this task could take quite some time to complete.
