Our Citadel

It's an island that floats in the sky; yes, our very own
personal island.
The citi, as we call it, is a place where we can go to train
skills, hang out with other Cluvians, and at times hold
ceremonies.
The skills you train require nothing from you in order to do.
You also do not get any inventory items in return, so no bank
runs are required. What you get from skilling in the citadel is
some nice XP. If you consistently work in the citi, the amount
of XP you can get will increase (this is known as fealty which
is explained below). What the clan as a whole gets from your
skilling in the citi is valuable resources for which can be used
to upgrade each area of the citi and provide some fun new
features.
Notable locations:
The Keep is a huge building made to hold meetings and parties.
The keep contains a bank, the quarter master (for rewards and
ort deposit), meeting area, dance floor, and theatre.
The Avatar (aka Ava) Habitat is home for our Ava's (we had 3).
They float around waiting to be summoned.
There is also a Battlefield that can be built up and played in.
We have a tier 7 citi, highest they go, and we have put
countless hours of work into this place and are very proud of
it. We have a long ways to go to get many upgrades/additions.
Every member that does cap, regardless if you do it for the citi
or for yourself and the XP, we really do appreciate it and like
to thank you all for putting work into it.
The following are the skills you can work on the citi and gain
XP from doing them:
Woodcutting (the tree) - this makes timber
Mining (stone, metal ores, precious ores) - this produces the
ores for the furnace
Firemaking (kiln) - this makes charcoal for the furnace
Smithing (furnace) - this uses the ores n charcoal from Mining
and Firemaking to make bars
Crafting (loom) - this makes cloth
Cooking (bbq) - this makes fish and stew
Summoning (obelisk) - this one is special; it makes minions and
you can only do 10% of your cap here. These minions are
allocated to the highest priority job with an unmet resource
need. Minions can become any resource to meet the resource
costs.
Each of these are called plots.
The work you do in the citi is called capping and gives XP in
the related plot. The XP is level dependent, meaning, the
higher the skill level the more XP you gain.
The weekly cap is set at 2700 resources; once filled, you are
capped. The clan system then announces that you have capped,
regardless if you are in the clan chat or not. These resources
are gathered and put in the store house to be distributed first
to upkeep, then to any upgrades/additions we have set. As
resources are gathered, they fill the required needs to keep the
citi running and for it to grow. The XP gained while capping is
a great way to train, as well as free, meaning you need not
spend your hard earned coins.
So every week, the citi ticks, meaning that it takes all the
work done from that week and applies it. Then it resets your
cap so you can come in and cap again. This build tick, as it is
called, happens 1 hour after the Runescape daily reset on Sunday
morning. The exact time is Sunday, 1:00 AM (GMT). Follow this
link to see what time that would be for you:
HTML http://www.worldtimeserver.com/current_time_in_UTC.aspx
Just
put in the time of 1 AM and click the submit button. Then
select your location from the drop down, and it will tell you
what the time would be in your time zone.
Right after the build tick happens is when the upkeep team comes
in to do their work. These are the members that come in on tick
night and cap what needs to be done. They worry not about what
it is and most times get to cap what they want.
Upkeep is the amount of resources needed to keep the place
running. If we don't meet upkeep, the citi dilapidates. We can
still work at the plots, but the place looks run down, and all
the rewards/bonuses are nullified (Ava's are gone too). On a
side note, the visits play a roll in the well being of the citi
as well. When you go to the citi, it counts your visit. A set
number of 5 visits is needed in order for the citi to stay up
and running.
From the Wiki (
HTML http://runescape.wikia.com/wiki/Clan_Citadels)<br
/>IMPORTANT:
If an insufficient number of clan members visit in the week for
upkeep, then upon the build tick buildings become dilapidated.
Dilapidation causes the clan's colours to be removed from the
wall and the skill plots to function at a lower level. In
addition, any resources that may have been allocated to upgrade
jobs or customisations go instead into the storehouse and are
subject to spoilage upon the build tick, as if the jobs did not
exist. Any payments made in previous weeks for those jobs are
not lost, and the jobs themselves are not cancelled. If another
build tick goes by and not enough members visit the citadel, it
downgrades by one tier and remains dilapidated. Any citadel
features, such as skill plots, that require the higher tier are
removed. The only exception is a Tier 1 Tree, which never
dilapidates.
So to prevent this, we set locks on targets in the plots as to
get only what's needed for upkeep.
During upkeep, we lock stone till the ores are met, then open
stone and its target, the furnace, is also locked till the
ores/kiln is met. When the kiln and at least one of or both
ores are met, we open the furnace. Once the plot meets its
target, it locks. Once all the plots meet their targets, upkeep
is met and all is open to cap on for upgrades/additions. The
reason we do this is to make sure we meet upkeep. If no lock on
a target is set and too many work on one plot and not the
others, upkeep will not meet and that's not good.
With upkeep met, from here this is where some come and cap what
they want. There are still locks on targets, mainly in the ores
and kiln, so they don't get too out of hand. In other words,
they can't be cleaned up due to their over abundance. At the
moment, we don't need any stone, so it stays locked after
upkeep. The other plots also have targets as well. These are
just there to show members what we would like to see done; they
don't need to meet.
So when it's nearing the end of the week, usually in the last 24
hours till the citi ticks, we have members that we call our
clean up crew. These are members that will cap the furnace to
knock down the surplus of ores/kiln. If there is more of one
than the other, they will cap on the lesser till they are equal
or close to equal. Then they will finish their cap in the
furnace. Sometimes there is nothing or little to clean up; if
this happens, they usually cap on what's needed most. They do
this so no work is wasted; this is called surplus. If we sill
have ores/kiln that could have been made into bars after citi
ticks, then all the ores/kiln work is gone.
So join in any time during the week and come to the citi and
cap.
I would like to add that though my upkeep team is lacking
members, we like to get upkeep done as soon as possible, and
have set a record of getting upkeep in 3 hours. But with
school/college/work/life, I have lost some members. I would
like to ask that, if possible, you could join my upkeep team.
If you are already in clean up crew, stay there please, as your
job is just as important as the upkeep team.
My role in all of this is to oversee that everything runs
smoothly, but I do not do this alone. I'm in the citi the
entire night of citi tick, capping the Ava and watching what
gets capped on.
We cap the Ava's during upkeep, oh yeah!! (kool-aid man bursts
through the wall) Ava's have a 2700 cap to. We mainly work them
on the kiln as it the plot that needs the most work and to get
the furnace opened asap.
We set the upkeep numbers first. When upkeep is met, we set the
goals for upgrades/additions. When an upgrade/addition is
complete, Wysdm and I go over what we should put in next.
Sometimes we ask the clan, and sometimes we look for something
that has a certain resource. This is so that resources stay
open after upkeep.
Rewards and Bonuses:
When you have capped 3 weeks in a row, Congratulations! You
have earned fealty 3 star. This means that you get a 45% bonus
to XP while capping in the citi. You can also claim XP from
your clan cape (its like a small prismatic lamp). Your clan
cape will show your fealty rating by the stars on the bottom of
it. The catch is that you need to keep capping week after week
to keep your fealty 3 star.
Also, during your cap, you will get a message in your chat box
saying you have capped enough to receive bonus XP from the
quarter master, who is in the keep opposite the bank. This
bonus XP only pertains to the skills that are in the citi. This
bonus XP and the clan cape are level dependent as well.
It should also be said that capping in the citadel each week is
not a requirement for continual membership in the clan. You
will not be looked down upon if you do not participate in the
weekly capping. Be aware, though, that capping is a team
effort, so it will be mentioned quite a bit in the clan chat.
In conclusion, the citadel provides a great way to train certain
skills without costing you a thing except a little time. It's a
great place to call our own and develop it into something we
like and can be proud of.
