You could almost see Droba's lobes perk up. She as an insatiable
gossip and loved juicy dirt.
"Hmm? Do go on Josh... what rumors? What's all this about?"
She asked curiously, a sly, toothy, smile spreading across her
face from ear to ear. She knew it wasn't becoming of an officer
to be interested in such things but... that's who she was. She
wouldn't TELL anyone of course, not if it was sensitive, but if
it was social, she couldn't resist.

Josh opened a door for a conversation that he really didn't have
answers to, just second hand information and not sure if any of
it had any truth behind it.
"Only thing that was said by several people that the
Cardassian's had POW's, and they're being used as slave labor,
others interrogated for classified information, others are
being put to death of they don't like what they hear."
Josh's facial expression dropped some then continued. "Again
this is all speculation and conjecture. There's no real hard
evidence to support the allegations, but it does fit what we
know about the Cardassian's."

The Edwards Quarters
" I do indeed when I get chance to meet her properly face to
face" Brooke replied with the war she hadn't had met her in laws
but was looking forward to hopefully meeting them at some point.
After eating a few more mouthfuls of omelette she looked to her
husband again " We better get a move on and get ready soon for
our first duty shifts and I need to pop by Sickbay too" She said
" Who would of thought we would of reactivated our commissions
but I'm glad we have". Her and Jacob after a discussion with the
Captain the night before had decided to return to Starfleet as
much as she had enjoyed her short time as a civilian had
realised how much she had missed active duty and was happy that
it was something they had both agreed to do.

Bridge
"You're probably right, we should wait for them," Jaden said in
a low voice as he looked over to the doorway that led to the
captain's ready room. "Besides, I've no need to have a report
filed against me for taking the ship out without orders."
He then put his hand behind his head and rubbed the back of his
head, thinking about last night and this morning. The bourbon
that he had drank did not drastically put him under the weather
this morning; however, he was feeling the effects of it. He
thought to himself, 'Maybe I'm not as young as I thought I was.
It is getting harder to bounce back.'
"I'm not too high and dry. The ship will get out of here without
crashing into the station. That I can promise you."

Jaden was paying attention to the exchange that was going on
between the operations officer and the tactical officer. His
facial expression remained mostly blank as he listened to the
two of them talk about the rumors that surrounded their current
mission. Having grown up on Star Fleet ships, Jaden had learned
to not put too much stock into the rumor mill; however, it was
not something that should be completely ignored.
When the tactical officer mentioned that Cardassians could be
holding some prisoners of war, Jaden started to pay a bit more
attention to what the officer was saying. The flight control
chief was under the impression that the Cardassians had not been
in the business of taking prisoners. Jaden had written most of
his friends of as dead that had gone missing during the war. The
possibility of them being alive was intriguing to him.
Addressing the tactical officer, Jaden said in a stern yet
non-confrontational way, "Lieutenant, I would recommend not
being too concerned with the rumors until we have something more
concrete from the captain. There's no need in getting our hopes
up that some of our fellow officers may still be alive."

Josh said with a stern look on his face. "I don't believe in
rumors, but i do listen to everything that goes on and that has
to deal with federation POW's. One of the many things about me
that people will realize is that I'm always listening, then i
react. I'm hoping the rumors are just that. Would it suprise
me that the Cardassian's are holding POW's, not really. But do i
believe they actually are, i just don't know." Josh said as he
looked at both of them. I hope that didn't come off as jerkish,
and they take offense to that. Josh thought to himself.

"Oh Jaden, don't be such a stick in the mud. I saw your ears
perk up when he started talking about it too."
She knew he was trying to play it cool, but she could read him
like a book.
"Besides- rumors are the gateway to information and information
is the gateway to profit."
She exclaimed as if reading a passage from a holy book, lifting
a finger academically. When she had finished she smiled wryly.
She hated the Rules of Acquisition. That wasn't to say she
didn't think they didn't have good ideas- she just hated the
dogmatic approach people took to them.
"Your right Josh. I hope there is no truth to it. But, if that
is true, that's a horrible fate. I spent 3 weeks working a
Cardassian pleasure cruise a while back and let me tell you- if
what I saw constitutes Cardassian pleasure I don't WANT to know
what they conciser cruelty!"

Jacob smiled and nodded to Brooke. He then said "Of we get a
chance to return to Earth, we'll stop by Miami and pay them a
visit." He took a few more bites of his breakfast and washed it
with some orange juice. He then said to her "I can't wait to see
their expression when they find out they are gonna be
grandparents."

Josh nearly wanted to touch Droba's shoulder in a comforting
manner but decided against it as he didn't really know her and
wasnt sure if she liked to be touched. "I'm sorry to hear that,
no one should have to go through that." Josh didn't know what
else to say so he thought it best to leave it at that.

Bridge
Jaden realized he had obviously struck a chord with what he said
to the tactical officer. It had not been his intention to get
the officer's feathers riled up; but, it had happened. Jaden was
not to worried about it, such things happened and this was their
first, and so far only interaction with each other.
"I apologize, Mr. Shephard," Jaden said with sincerity in his
voice. "I was not trying to insinuate that you were putting too
much stock in the rumors."
He paused for a moment and then thought about what to say next,
as he did not want to give away the fact that he was hoping that
the rumors were true and that some of his friends would be found
alive. The flight control officer did not have to worry about
that, though, since the Ferengi decided to speak up.

He nodded his head as Droba talked about the cruelty that the
Cardassians exhibited towards other races. They were definitely
not the most friendly people on the plant. Instead of trying to
defend himself regarding the stick in the mud comment that Droba
made, Jaden simply said, "We shall see about all of this when
the captain gives us his briefing. I'm sure he will gather the
senior officers soon."
