"Well Josh. You denied yourself quite the pleasure." She mused
at him with a little wink, "I'm a very interesting Ferengi."
She placed down the hot slurry of slug parts that served as her
morning beverage, "And this very interesting Ferengi is named
Droba. Head of operations for the Atlantis. It's a pleasure to
meet you."
She was chattier than most Federation officers and didn't mind
casual conversation as long as the ranking officer on the bridge
didn't mind either. She didn't rise to meet him, she preferred
to sit unless there was a reason to get up.

Bridge
The doors to the main turbolift opened and Jaden walked onto the
bridge in a slow, yet deliberate, manner. He was tired from the
night before, as the party had taken its toll on him. All in all
he had had about 5 or 6 shots of bourbon. Normally that would
not be an issue for him, however having duty had put a bit of a
damper on his recovery. He had been able to get up on time, but
putting on the uniform seemed to be a bit of a chore for him.
The flight control chief did not immediately go to the helm
console, as there was a young ensign manning the controls.
Instead, Jaden looked around the bridge and observed some of the
other officers. He noticed that the Ferengi operations officer
was speaking with someone who was standing at the tactical
station. Jaden had not met that officer, yet. Both the captain
and the executive officer were not on the bridge and there was
not anyone currently sitting in the command chair.
'I wonder who is in command of the ship,' Jaden thought to
himself as he made his way over to Droba and the tactical
officer.
He approved them slowly, not wanting to intrude into their
conversation, as it appeared that they were exchanging morning
pleasantries.
There seemed to be a break in their conversation, so Jaden
decided to address them both.
"Excuse me, Droba, how are you this morning? Excited to get
underway?" Jaden said as he smiled at the Ferengi officer. She
seemed like a friendly enough individual based on his brief
interaction with her the night before. The flight control
officer then turned his head towards the tactical officer. "I
don't think we've met, Lieutenant. Jaden Montgomery, head of
flight control. Do either of you two know who is in command of
the bridge, right now? It appears we are leaderless... And I
believe I'm supposed to get us underway."

Josh was about to answer Droba when he saw another officer walk
up to them. "I'm actually not sure, i just arrived a few
moments ago and Lieutenant Droba not long after i did. Most i
saw up here was ensigns. And I'm sorry I'm Lieutenant Joshua
Shepard, tactical officer. I haven't heard any orders to get
under way as of yet though. I'm not even sure where the captain
an be first officer are. " Josh walked back up to his station
and tapped the controls. Seconds later he announced. "Well the
captain and first officer are in the captains ready room."

[CSO-Office]
Back at his office, Sylok sat behind his desk and resumed his
research on the planet Cardassia IV. The computers records show
the class M planet was certainly no stranger to holding
prisoners in labor camps, most notable of which the Hutet Labor
Camp which once held a famous Bajoran war hero Li Nalas.

As Maria moved to sit by him he lowered his head at the words
she spoke, his return was soft and quiet and in a voice few
heard him even try to use "It huts Maria, i'n not going to lie
to you, each and every person we lost from Captain Grix to the
newest replacements" He paused and pushed his mane of hair back
from his face as he looked up at her.
"Could I have done better? Could I have saved the Captain if i
had moved faster"? He had not had time to grieve while the war
was ongoing but now when he had more time to think the weight of
it all was resting heavy on his shoulders.

Maria looked at him and briefly smiled. Not a smile of laughter,
but one of gratitude that he opened up to her.
"I know it hurts sweety, but there was absolutely nothing you
could have done." She paused and stood up from on his table, and
wrapped her arms around his shoulders before continuing, "If you
did any less, lots more people would have died and possibly
you... I already have no family and if you had died, I wouldn't
even have a friend."
Maria moved away from him, keeping one hand on each of his
shoulders, looking into his eyes, letting what she had just said
sink in.
Maria did have other friends, but none came close to as good as
B'Ozian was to her.

“Should have led with that Josh.” Droba said dryly, rolling her
eyes as he mentioned the XO and Capt. were in the ready room.
She knew better than to interrupt them there.
“And I’m fine Mr. Montgomery. Ship’s stocked and all the crewman
are accounted for... except those who called in ‘sick’. Hope
your drink of choice didn’t leave you too dry and high this
morning... or whatever that hu-mon expression is.” She added and
a half smile. The drink he had given her last night didn’t taste
very good by Ferengi standards. Not enough slime and bile- too
much of a ‘burning” sensation in her gut.
“But yeah- I’d still wait for the Ex-Oh and Cee-Aye-Pee-Tee
before you got us underway.” She said, spelling out the letters.
It was a weird habit she had picked up from reading rank
abbreviations rather than saying them. In Ferengi, abbreviations
were always spelled out rather than said.

Jacob finished cooking the couples breakfast for the day and put
his scrambled eggs on one plate and put Brooke's omelette on the
other plate. He carried the two plates to the dining table and
set Brooke's omelette in front of her and set his plate on the
other side and sat across from her.
He looked up at her with a smile.

The Edwards Quarters
A slight uneasy feeling crept over Brooke for a moment but it
soon passed and she expected to experience more as the pregnancy
continued and looked back at her husband and smiled. " I know
I'm biased but you are an awesome chef " She said picking up her
knife and fork and started to eat.

Josh smiled a little at Droba. Then turned to Lieutenant
Montgomery. "It would be best not to disturb them right now,
they could be planning our mission objectives. I'm just curious
if the rumors are true. I've heard second hand stories but
nothing concrete."
