"Sounds good to me " Brooke replied smiling before following her
husband over to the table he had chosen for them and sat down in
the chair he had pulled out for her. " You always know what

Maria smiled at them both and then said "Okay then. I'll be

Arriving at the bar, she swung into a seat while she waited and
looked to a bartender. "Two Hot Chocolates please." she said to
him.

Jacob chuckled and pushed Brooke in the table. "I love you too."
He said and kissed her cheek. He walked over and sat in his
chair. He looked at her with a smile.

Nine Lives
Jaden smiled as the Ferengi talked about bartering as he knew
that was something that would bring great joy to her. It was a
foreign concept to him, though, as he did not generally place
much value on material items. He preferred to live quite simply.
He picked up that habit from his adoptive parents who did not
have much in the way of personal belongings as they were
constantly moving from starship to starship.
"I will have to make a list up for you," Jaden said in response
to her. "I'm not quite sure what I'll put on it; but, I'll find
something for you to get me."
He looked around the room and noticed that some of the officers
seemed to have had their fill with the social gathering. He
could honestly say that he was not enjoying the event, but it
was his duty to be there. As such, he would go through the
formality of mixing and mingling with the crew.
Jaden looked down to his empty hand, again, and realized that he
needed to get himself a drink. Looking back up to the Droba, he
said to her, "I'm going to go get another drink. Would you care
for anything?"

With just the two of them sat there beside the stars it was easy
to forget that there were others in the room as Brooke focused
on only her husband. She intended to make the most of their time
together and knew that at some point she would be called back to
the bar but knew that Jacob understood and no doubt would remain
by her side until the party was over to make sure she hadn't
overdone things. She loved running Nine Lives with him and their
staff and hoped that this would be the first of many crew get
togethers when time allowed. Looking at her husband " Remind me
that we still have to tell the Captain the news about the baby".

Brooke looked over at the Captain for a moment before turning
her attention back to her husband putting her other hand over
his " Me too, hopefully some light to come out of all this
darkness we've been through lately" She replied. Some of the
crew she knew but there seemed to be a lot of new faces which
was inevitable given the war but she liked to think of them all
as one big family still and hoped in time she would get to know
everyone.

"Yeah." Jacob agreed with Brooke. Some light she'd in this dark
hour can really come a long way. Even though the war was finally
over, everyone has lost so much. Perhaps this news can shed that
light even more so.

Droba gave him a coy smile, little fangs slipping past her lips,
she had a 'thing' for hu-mons.
"Of course. Have you ever known a Ferengi to turn down another
free anything?"
She explained with a little wink. That and she was pretty sure
she was biologically compelled to get as much "stuff" as
possible. If it was a biological imperative- she could get
behind that notion- it was a useful compulsion. If it was a
social construct... well then she'd just have to overlook that
little part of the patriarchy.

Brooke smiled and continued to keep her hand over her husbands,
simply enjoying the warmth and the moment they shared. After a
few minutes she looked into his eyes once more and leaned closer
to him " I've had a wicked idea if we can later on how about we
leave early" She said, it was only an idea and would depend on
if they were still busy but also knew that her husband would
understand as the Lounge was important to the both of them.
