Josh turned to his new department head and nodded to him. Then
turned his attention back to the captain. "Of course captain,
i understand. This isn't the place for such a discussion.
Please excuse me. " He nodded his head to the captain and turned
to face the chief of security. "Commander pleasure to meet you.
I'm honored to be able to work with you. I've heard great
things about you sir. "

Nine Lives
Jaden smiled as the captain made the statement about being
highly recommended. He was not sure who would have recommended
him, as many of his former captains had died in the war. He had
to assume that there were one or two officers out in the fleet
that were looking out for him, though.
"Thank you, sir." Jaden said as he moved a bit out of the way.
"I will get some food and then I'll make sure that the ship's
flight control systems are ready to get us out of here
tomorrow."
With that, Jaden walked away from the captain and the other
officers that had congregated around him. He would not have
wanted to be in the captain's shoes, there did not seem to be a
single person at the gathering that did not have something that
they needed to say to him.
As he was walking to the other end of the bar, Jaden noticed
that one of the security or tactical officers had inquired to
the captain about what type of mission they would be embarking
on. Jaden could not help but think that this was not the time or
the place for that discussion to be had and he was glad that the
captain seemed to put a lid on that topic before it went in
depth.
He did notice that there was a Ferengi in a Star Fleet uniform
that was standing around, and he was quite intrigued by that.
Jaden had never met an officer that was Ferengi before.
Deciding that it would be a good idea to introduce himself,
Jaden walked up to her, extended his hand and said, "Lieutenant
Montgomery, Chief of Flight Control, what's your position on the
Atlantis?"

Patrick listened to what the Captian has said nodding with
Acknowledgement he face the larger man and took a breath before
repling

Patrick looked over the Security Officer then looking at him for
a moment before speaking eying the man
"Indeed; but what you haven't heard is that I run a tight ship
and Lieutenant plan on little sleep as if we are prepared for
the mission ahead there will be battle drills and extra
training" Finished Patrick "As I am new here please inform me
about others within the Security Department" Patrick continued

"Oh I'm the figurehead of the ship."
She said rather matter-of-factly, but this was followed by a wry
smile.
"They put me in a suit, push me out the airlock, and fasten me
to the prow of the ship when they leave port. They say my good
looks and wining smile brings them good luck. Pay sucks but at
least I get to see the stars."
She added, clearly amusing herself, showing him by smiling her
full set of little goblin teeth,
"When I'm not doing that though- I'm the Head of Operations.
It's a pleasure Lieutenant Montgomery."
She finished, adding a much warmer smile and extending her hand
politely. She knew these Federation types were not too keen on
humor but she hoped they hadn't reached Vulcan levels yet.

Josh let out a slight grin. "I would be happy to commander. My
brother Lieutenant KnodwI Shepard also serves as security and
Tactical as well, plus a few cadets that are still in training,
but my brother and i are new to the ship as well sir. Just came
on board earlier today and was instructed to meet here so i
haven't met all the security personnel at the moment, but if
you'd like sir i could assemble them now if you wish? On another
side note commander lack of sleep and training does not bother
me. While i was chief of security on my last post i ran drills
once. Sometimes twice a day, until the captain asked me to
limit it to once or twice a week. I believe in being prepared
for all contingencies."

-Nine Lives-
Rebecca had snuck into the bustling social space, greeting a few
people here and there before making a bee line to the bar. The
sounds of people laughing and drinking created a noisy but
lively atmosphere. The vibe was positive, hinging on almost fun,
but there were moments...moments where people glanced and you
could see the silent sad communication regarding the past chaos.
Chaos that Rebecca herself was still dealing with. After shocks
were expected and her staff had been and still were being given
copious amounts of grace as they struggled to adjust back into a
regular working schedule. Work, ugh, all Rebecca wanted to do
was hide away. But even with that she was well aware her desire
to stay curled up in a little ball wasn't realistic.
Her drink was prepared and she picked up the light purple
liquid, taking a sip she turned and watched the room with a
curious gaze

Nine Lives
Jaden raised an eye brow as the Ferengi officer responded to his
introduction. He was not sure exactly how to respond, so he
simply shook her hand and smiled at her.
Thinking for a moment, he replied to her, "I see, well, I can't
imagine that being the figurehead of the ship would be that
profitable."
The flight control officer could tell that the Ferengi was
clearly enjoying her little explanation of her role on the ship.
If he were being honest with himself, he was a little amused
with it, as well. There had not been figureheads on ships in
centuries; but, Jaden could think of a few people he might like
to strap on to the outside of a ship.
"Besides, I wouldn't want to have to coordinate getting you back
into the ship," he said as he looked down to his hand and
realized that he didn't have anything to drink.

Sylok finished eating his food, he thought it was flavored a on
the strong side since his pallet was custom to Vulcan food.
Feeling just making an appearance at this event would be
satisfactory he got up and started to head for the door so he
could resume his duties.

"Oh it's not all that hard. Logistics are my specialty." She
mused, "That and I'm also the ship's resident trade delegate.
You'll have to send me a list of personal items you need, I'm
going to be asking all the crew for a small list. That way I can
see if I can arrange a good price or barter when we are at
port."

Jacob looked back and forth between the bar and the empty
tables. He then looked at his wife and replied "Let's grab a
table." He walked over to a table next to one of the windows. He
set his cup down and pulled out Brooke's seat for her. Jacob
always loved having a table with the view of space. It was the
second best thing to the view of the ocean on the beach.
