Dan had left engineering for the briefing room and entered
saying "Apologies for being late, I was assigning engineers.
What have I missed?"

Jacob turned around and saw Lieutenant Howell and nodded. It was
great to see him. He remembered when he was in his tuxedo
attending his wedding as his Best Man. Now, he was in his
uniform. He said to him "You haven't missed much. Me and Brooke
just arrived after the drill ended."

Jacob looked at Lieutenant Shepard and said "Well, when I heard
the alarm, I immediately took action. I got me and Brooke a
phaser and knew it was best to report to the Bridge to see what
was going on and what needed to be done." He looked at his wife
and smiled.

Josh nodded to Commander Howell. "Negative sir. We just
started, no need to be sorry."
Josh then turned his attention back to Ensign Edwards.

Josh typed on his PADD. "Very good. I do have one thing to say
though and it might not be standard practice on a starship, but
you Mr. Edwards are assigned to Engineering. That's your post,
and where you was supposed to go for your posting, Mrs Edwards
was correct in coming to the bridge as she is a science officer
and van assist in scanning. I get you wanting to protect her or
each other but some commanding officers would want you to report
to your designated area, unless you are closer to the bridge
then I completely understand."
Josh passed his PADD to Commander Howell to show him all of the
events of the drill. "Commander with your experience do you
feel that this crew can handle combat if it comes down to it
based off these findings?"
Josh then raised his hands off the table slightly to express a
serious point. "Please know this ladies and gentlemen. I'm not
bashingthe crew or implying they are unfit or anything like
that. I'm just trying to get an outline on what areas need to
be addressed for future drills to avoid certain issues. I
personally think everyone did a great job, some minor issues
bit nothing that can't be fixed. And speaking of fixing
commander, i believe such bay comm units are down, because
doctor Garrett informed me that she didn't hear the statement of
reporting to the bridge. If you could look into that please.
Now what do you all think the crew did? What could be done
better? " Josh looked at everyone while they all thought to
themselves.

Howell was listening to the Lieutenant who was actually doing
quite a good job. As Shepard passed the PADD over to him, Dan
inspected the data on it before allowing the Lieutenant to
finish, replying "As it stands, I think the crew could only just
cope with low level combat and mean just. A lot of work needs
doing and department efficiency ratings need to go up as well
including engineering." Dan finished before continuing "and i'll
dispatch a team down to sickbay to have a look at the comm
system."

"I voiced my opinion earlier on the bridge. For the benefit of
the rest of you- here's the highlights: No. Bad. Wrong. Why the
hell would you give a full ship drill on a new crew a day out of
port? It was punitive and would probably result in the crew
being more mistrusting. But yeah- no one did terribly. No one
died. High marks all around. Now bring out the champagne so we
can toast how awesome we all are... but seriously, Champagne
would be lovely."
Droba was more than a little sarcastic in the way she relayed
the information but what could be expected?

Brooke looked back at her husband and returned his smile as she
listened to what he had to say along with Lieutenant Shepard and
the others. With being off duty her and Jacob had stuck together
and it would of meant taking separate turbo lifts to get them to
their destinations. However it wasn't the time to continue
explanations as it was now over and they had to analyse the
strengths and weaknesses and how they could work together as a
crew to become more efficient. " I understand that we've only

take both the positives and negatives from this, learn from it
and move forward".

Josh stood up and nodded his head to everyone. "Great job
everyone. Now we have a few more hours before we reach
Cardassia IV, so if you're not on duty get some rest and relax,
if you are please get back to your stations. Dismissed. " Josh
then walked back out on to the bridge.
Bridge
Josh walked back over to the captains chair and sat down. Not
looking at his brother but asked him. "So what's our current
status brother?"

[move]12 Hours Later[/move]
Approaching Cardassia IV
The journey to Cardassia IV had proved uneventful as a far as
the travelling was concerned even if not actually on the ship,
they were now only one hour away and the crew would be changing
over again shortly.
[First Officers Quarters]
"Dyson to bridge can i have a status report?" he asked simply as
he sat on the end of the bed looking at his reflection in the
mirror.
