"No offense taken. That's another thing people will learn about
me. It takes a lot to offend me, or get a rise out of me.
However i suggest we drop this until we are better informed. No
sense in letting untrue rumors engulf the ship before we even
know the full details of the mission. "

The Edwards Quarters
"I like the sound of that and if we get time we can swing by
Maine and see my parents too " She replied smiling back thinking
of how her own parents would react to the news of her pregnancy
then again Michael already had children so no doubt their
daughter would also get spoiled. " I imagine Caia Mae will get
spoiled by all of them" She said putting her cutlery down and
taking a final drink of her juice. She then got up from the
table and walked round to her husband " Come on slow coach we
better get ready " She teased.

"Oh! It was nothing like that Josh. They paid me well to pour
drinks and run card table in their lounge. The only indignity I
suffered was that the Cardassians were stingy tippers. They have
some nasty games though. Some bloodsport, some public
humiliation of the worst kind, and you'd think they were 12 year
old girls the way they went behind each others back!"
She didn't quite get all the way to laughing but was at least
smiling at the memory. It wasn't a high point in her life but
she prided herself on having been well traveled since leaving
Ferenginar. The Federation was nice but it wasn't perfect. No
civilization she had visited was and that was ok. Everyone had
their ups and downs but she preferred to just keep riding the
mud-wave and see it all.

-CMO's Office - USS Atlantis-
"So..." Rebecca eyed her notes and thought out her next set of
words cautiously, "...so you are often awake at night?" Her eyes
lifted as she watched the junior lieutenant's reaction to the
question. This was a short but mandatory session, all
crewmembers who were deemed unfit for duty for whatever physical
or mental issues had to go through it. Rebecca hated when she
couldn't sign off, it was heart breaking to have to tell someone
they couldn't go back to normal just yet. It wasn't a permanent
thing, but she could relate to the feeling that it was a gavel
coming down hard on their future.
"Uhm.." He nodded, "I supposed I'm awake for a few hours off and
on. I do sleep though." Nervously he rubbed his arm, "I've had
some help sleeping, sickbay offered..." there was a pause, "Well
you can see that in the records I'm sure."
"Even if I can see it, it's still alright for you to tell me
about it." Rebecca placed the padd on her table, "Do you find
the sleep restful when you do get it?" There was a right and
wrong answer here.
"No.."
Wrong answer. Rebecca inwardly winced.
"I mean," he corrected, "..I wouldn't say it isn't but it's hard
to tell when I'm tired already. But, b-but when I do get to
sleep I wake naturally and I've had no issues getting out of bed
or eating."
Better.
"I know you're trying. I can see the effort you've put in and I
don't want to take away from that in any way." A half smile,
warm and gentle, formed and she said, "You should be proud of
yourself. Not many are able to challenge these issues like you
have." Rebecca tapped a few things on her padd, momentarily
looking down.
"But.." he quietly said.
She glanced up, "But?" the repeated word hung between them, "Did
you want to add anything?"
He seemed confused, but only for a moment. It seemed he was
merely gathering his courage to ask, "No, but I have a feeling
you will. I've done all I can...or at least I think I have. But
it's not enough, is it Ma'am? I'm not better...in some ways I
think I'm getting worse."
There was a moment of silence. A moment that would allow him to
continue if he wished, and if he didn't then that moment
prepared him for her answer, "No, you're not better." Rebecca
looked down at her padd and finished her few notes. She could
only imagine what he was thinking.
"I-"
Rebecca held up a finger and stopped him. With the final button
pushed she looked back up, "But," A smirk followed, "You've made
progress. You're taking care of yourself and those nightmares
and night terrors and those things that keep you up all night
thinking instead of sleeping, they'll fade as you go along.
You're talking to people, you're getting up and you're making
sure you nourish yourself. What more could I ask. We're doctors,
not robots. We know that human or alien, returning to a state of
normal takes time."
"So...?" he leaned a little closer, "Does that mean I can go
back to work?"
Rebecca nodded, "Yes, you can go back to work but you're still
scheduled for counselling and we'll be doing weekly physicals
for the first few weeks." She nodded towards the door, 'Now git,
before I find something to growl about. Apparently that's what I
do best."

Jacob nodded with Brooke when she mentioned seeing her parents
in Maine. It would be nice for him to meet her parents as well.
Perhaps maybe the two families can have a get together if the
chance ever came. He finished his breakfast and his drink and
looked up at Brooke. He chuckled and pulled her to him and
kissed her belly. "OK dear." He said to her. "Don't want us to
be late on our first day."

Brooke looked down at her husband and smiled when he kissed her
abdomen, since she found out she was pregnant they had bonded
more over it and despite a few normal issues she was already
enjoying the pregnancy. " That's right we don't " She replied
kissing him on top of the head before letting go and walking
over to the dressing area.

Armory
KnodwI finally finished up all the maintenance of all the
weapons on the ship. He grabbed a couple of the weapons and
took them to the firing range on the ship to do some test firing
and weapon quals. He stayed busy during these tests, but he
wants to make sure everything is right.
Computer location of Lt. Joshua Shepard?
Lt. Joshua Shepard is on the bridge.
Lt. Shepard come to the firing range for weapon tests.
KnodwI waited for his brother to show up to the firing range.

Bridge
Josh was just finishing up his conversation with Droba and
Lieutenant Montgomery when he heard his brother call for him for
weapons testing. Josh tapped his communicator. =^=
Acknowledged I'm on my way. =^= Josh then motioned for an ensign
to come over and assume the station. Josh looked at him.
"Ensign Rowan correct? " Josh asked. "Yes sir" The ensign
snapped in a quick crisp response. "Very good keep scanning the
area, I'll be in the armory if you need me." The young ensign
acknowlged Josh's orders with a simple. "Aye sir"
Josh looked at Droba and Lieutenant Montgomery, "excuse me" he
said as he walked past them and headed for the turbo lift. He
hit the panel to call the lift and within seconds it came. He
stepped on to it and called out. "Main armory" the doors closed
and in a matter of moments he arrived and the doors opened.
Armory
Josh came up to the door of the armory, he entered his security
code to allow him access. "Well well my brother. How's your
hang over? I didn't expect you up this early. " Josh said with
a laugh.

Jacob put on his gold uniform and sighed. He then said to Brooke
"It's been a while since I wore one of these." He was looking
forward to working in Engineering. He has never worked in that
station before until now. This should be exciting.

Brooke walked over to her husband after putting on her own
uniform and looked at him , she understood what he meant as they
never thought they would wear a Starfleet uniform ever again. "
I know what you mean but you do look good in gold " She replied
smiling before swiftly kissing his cheek.
