Valoru - Reporting In (16th April 2017)
DIR By: Chris
Date: April 16, 2017, 1:27 pm
---------------------------------------------------------
Character Details
Character Name: Valoru
Character Age: 44
Character DOB: 1 April 2331
Character Image: (attached below)
Character Species: Andorian
Gender: Male
Character Family: Biito & Mallua (Father and Mother), Gaburr,
Distant Cousin
Character Bio:
Looks like your typical Andorian, except with slightly longer
hair that is not as neatly trimmed. He usually wears a midnight
blue tight body armor suit, showing off his muscular, slender
tone. He's definitely fit. He is older - especially for his
rank, but he doesn't show it physically.
A bit sly and laid back, and quite reserved. Valoru tends to
hang back until he feels like the fun starts, then he is fully
engaged.
Languages: Fluent in English, Romulan, and Andorian dialects;
basic/conversational Vulcan and Klingon
Strengths: Martial Arts (trained in MANY), Obedient, Quiet and
Contemplative, Direct but good with people in general
Weaknesses: Terrible at ranged combat, his reserved nature can
come across as judgmental and arrogant.
Personal History:
From a young age, Valoru was always trained in combat. It was
not necessarily the common thing for his town or his family, but
it was what he wanted and his parents provided. He served in
local and global protection services (police, etc) before
leaving Andor for more study of martial arts. He studied with
the Klingons, the Vulcans, and Humans for a variety of martial
arts skills
He had floated in the galaxy getting trained and doing odd
bodyguard jobs where possible. He eventually turned to mercenary
work, but tried to stay clear of less-than-favorable dealings
(he mainly worked for Federation entities and businesses).
Valoru eventually settled down on a small outpost and began
working more closely with Starfleet. He received basic training
- more like sailed through it - and then was given an honorarium
from his homeworld for all he had done in protection of the
innocent and Andorians and the Federation. These formative years
on the Starfleet Outpost made him a better person by far.
The Andorian oddly enough studied Flight Control and Operations
in Starfleet, even though he was a keen martial weapon. This was
driven by his work with the command officers on the Outpost and
the strategy and logistics work he did therein. He was
eventually sent to the USS Valor for Flight Control and Helm
work as an official Starfleet Officer.
Service Record:
2355-2359: Andorian Academy
2359-2363: Andorian Local Police Force, Aerial Commander
2363-2364: Klingon mok'bara training on Ty'Gokor
2364: Vulcan Suus Mahna training on Regulus
2364-2366: Training in various Human martial arts on Sol (Tai
Chi, Aikido, Taikwondo)
2366-2371: Civilian Security at Outpost 234
2371-2375: Flight Control Major, Operations Minor, Diplomacy
Minor, Starfleet Academy
2375-Present: Flight Control on USS Valor
(obviously the last two items can be fleshed out with the Valor
posting and such)
Your Details
Previous Role-Playing Experience: Long-time simmer (2001), most
in admiralty and sim CO in Obsidian Fleet, Bravo Fleet, Pegasus
Fleet, UFPlanets.com, and others. Currently running two sims in

Department Preference: Helm/Flight Control
Secondary Department Preference: Diplomacy (if needed - I can

Sample Post:
*** Bridge, USS August ***
Sparks flew, steam and smoke bellowed, and bodies lay about. It
was not the most pleasant view of a bridge. Valoru exited the
turbolift having come to the bridge upon the captain's orders.
But alas, the ship was hit by something, and something heavy. He
was surprised the lift did not come to a complete halt,
honestly.
The Andorian looked around, quickly checked a few officers for
pulses. Most were alive but passed out, and there were one or
two with no pulse or breathing. He tapped his combadge, which
chirped in response. =^= "Bridge to sickbay, we need a medical
crew up here immediately. Multiple casualties. Valoru out." =^=
The more middle-aged Andorian, and yet "younger" officer in the
chain of command, knew how to assess a situation. Thankfully he
would not have to fill any roles that would overwhelm him or
even get him in trouble. The captain actually sat up after
Valoru's call.
"Ah," said the man, shaking his head and putting his hand on his
side, which was obviously torn from the ship shuddering. "Help
me up, and take helm."
Valoru did as he was told and the captain rested in his command
chair. The blue officer did not wait for any command but started
looking at the ship status. "Captain Knoy, sir. Shields are at
12%, torpedo launchers down, phasers at half power, main power
is offline, auxiliary is holding stead, life support at 60%,
hull integrity at 40%, and..." He paused. "Warp core offline,
impulse engines coming back online slowly."
It was a heck of a list, but the captain just nodded. He knew he
could count on most of his bridge officers to come through with
status updates like that in an emergency. "And our enemy?"
Valoru nodded, looking at the tactical console now loaded on his
panel. "They are in a holding pattern, matching our ship's tilt.
They are fully charged and ready to fire again. But no hails
yet."
Captain Knoy chortled, and then grunted from the pain in his
side. The medical team had just arrived and began checking
others, leaving Knoy and Valoru to their work for now. "Prepare
what we've got, Ensign, and put shield power on fore."
Valoru cocked his head but followed the orders. And sure enough
a chime came through his console. "Sir, that got their
attention. Incoming hail."
The captain grinned, squinting through his pain, turning it into
vitriol and will power. "On screen."
