Patrick felt the pain in her voice he knew this would be tough
and would be hard then the words came though like glass cutting
though flesh he sighed as he looked at her he stoked his hands
though his hair.
"Yes I had to do it at the time I knew you wouldn't Understand
but the main reason was that I needed to protect you" Finished
Brown then sighing "Because of me you would be suffering they
learned about us and were punishing you for it I needed to do
somthing to protect your career" Patrick solomly said

She still refused to look at him thinking she was right that
whatever came out of his mouth would be an excuse until she
actually listened to what he had to say and turned round again.
" You say I wouldn't of understood but how do you know that if
you only spoke to me about it instead of letting me go off and
hear it from your brother " she replied trying not to remember
the last time she had seen him and what they had done. " You say
you did it to protect me and my career but if you really loved
me you could of given me the choice to leave so we could be
together properly but its too late for that now and I would
never ask you to give up your career ".

Patrick satback in the sofa and closed his eyes hiding his pain
with his eyes still closed he spoke
"If you stayed they would have blocked any Promotions for you
and you would never be allowed to take the classes you took and
never be allowed to be a Department Head to force you away from
Starfleet, My brother did that out of spite because of his
issues and anger towards me" Patrick stated "you doubt I love
you but it takes great Love to know that to let you have your
dreams I have to not be selfish and give you up" Brown finished

She watched him close his eyes and for a brief moment wanted to
kiss him and just be wrapped in his arms again but she couldn't
break her resolve not to let him get to her yet was finding it
hard not too. She moved closer and reached out with her hand to
touch his face " I told you Patrick I would of given up
Starfleet so they couldn't do that to me and I understand with
your brother, he was trying to save me from any more heartbreak
but it didn't work " she replied " I cried for days and accepted
that we were over, I just wish we had this conversation before
now, things may of been different " she said closing the gap a
little bit more as she gave in and kissed him. His lips felt
like they always did and she stayed that way for a couple of
minutes before pulling back " I know what you've sacrificed
Patrick and you will always have a place in my heart".

Charlotte didn't want the kiss to end but when it did and he
looked at her with sad eyes, she smiled and reached out to him
again, touching his face the way she always did " I know I will
be eventually and you have nothing to apologize for, you rescued
me when I needed to be and I still love you Patrick" she replied
softly " Don't leave just yet " she added and kissed him once
more this time more deeply wanting to say goodbye properly.

Bridge
Josh was sitting on the bridge looking over the mission
guideline. He looked over at Commander Brown. "Commander with
this timeline we have and from our current position we'll never
be able to meet this goal. I want two shuttles dispatched. One
will go in towards the outter edge of the patch, and turn around
and begin it's scans. The second shuttle will be dropped half
way and make it's way back to Ba'ku and remain in orbit until
the Valor or another ship arrives. Then the Valor will go to the
other edge of the patch and make it's way back."

[Bridge]
John stood at the main tactical console and listened to the
Captain tell the XO the only way the scanning would work and
John agreed. There was no way the Valor short of breaking in
half could scan the whole Patch in the time given. John wondered
who would be in the two shuttles and who would be on the ship,
John knew either way that they would need to operate at Yellow
Alert a suggestion he planned to give the Captain.

John looked over at the Captian and nodded then he looked
forward at the Viewscreen for a moment,
"I agree it will be the best to to utilize the resources for
this task that Starfleet want's us to fail at it seems" Finished

Patrick looked at her with deep warm eyes looking into her very
soul then took a small breath
"Charlotte, know that even though we ca'nt be together I will
always Love you and will alway's have you in my heart as if I
ca'nt be with you I will live my life alone" Finished Patrick as
he grabbed her in his Arms and Kissed her softly on her lips and
then moved to her neck and continued to kiss her
