"It does Sweetie " Brooke managed to reply as Jacob gently laid
her down " Still call Sickbay or at least Dr Deito and let them
know " she said looking at him before she felt the urge to push
and gripped hold of his hand as she let nature take over.

Jacob nodded and tapped his comm badge. =/\= Edwards to Sickbay.
Medical emergency. Brooke is going into labor. Our baby is
coming.=/\= He held Brooke's hand and smiled at her. "This is it
dear. Caia Mae is coming."

Brooke didn't know if medical would arrive in time but at least
they had been notified so her and Caia - Mae could be checked
over if they didn't. " She is and sooner than we thought " she
replied between breathes as she pushed again letting out a
painful groan as she did. She could feel the exertion but had to
keep going to deliver their daughter. After a couple of minutes
break she bore down for what hopefully was the final few pushes
" Jake I need you to check and help me to guide her out ".

Jacob widened his eyes when Brooke asked him to help guide their
daughter out. He grabbed a towel and blanket to be ready and
went over to Brooke. He looked and said to Brooke "I see hee
head. She's close dear."

Brooke heard her husband but didn't say anything as she gave one
last push, sinking back onto the sofa for a moment before
looking down as their daughter made her entrance into the world
and let out a small cry and she looked at Jake with an exhausted
but happy smile.

Jacob heard Brooke yell as she gave another push and he grabbed
Caia Mae and smiled brightly as he held her in his hands. He
cleaned her off with the towel and wrapped her in the blanket he
had ready for her.
His eyes watered with tears as he looked at his newborn
daughter. "Hi Caia Mae." He said. "Welcome to the world." He
handed Caia Mae to Brooke. "Say hi to mommy."

Relief, happiness and a tonne of other emotions filled Brooke as
she watched her husband with their newborn daughter, happy tears
running down her cheeks as he then spoke to them both before
handing Caia Mae to her and carefully placed her on her abdomen
until the cord and other bits could be dealt with. She felt an
immediate rush of love for their little girl " Hi my beautiful
girl, me and daddy are so glad to finally meet you" she said
quietly then looked to Jacob " We did it babe ".
