Shore Leave - Side Mission

Starbase 378 - The Edwards Temporary Quarters
Brooke was in absolute agony as she experienced another practice
contraction, they had been becoming more frequent over the last
couple of days and she had tried to keep them hidden from Jacob
as she didn't want him to worry well not just yet as she still
had less than three weeks before her due date. However didn't
know how much longer she could do that especially since they had
been spending all of their time together since arriving back at
the station. Although she did intend to make the most of their
shore leave as didn't know when they would get it again. After a
few minutes the pain eased again and she managed to walk over to
the sofa and sit down before her husband appeared.

Star base 378 holodeck
Josh was on the holodeck enjoying an old 21st century past time.
Something that his parents loved doing. He was driving a 1984
chevy camaro. The sounds of the engine roaring, the radio
blaring his favorite rock music. He knew it wasn't real but it
would have to do for now until the next time he gets back on
earth. He was waiting for his brother to join him as soon as he
was able to.

John walked in and ordered some food and a glass of tea and sat
down to relax a bit and hoped he would see someone he knew.

Jacob walked into his and Brooke's quarters and saw his wife
sitting on a sofa. He smiled and walked up to her and sat beside
her. "Hi dear." He rubbed her belly and looked at her. "How are
my two favorite girls doing?"

Jacob's touch managed to relax her slightly that was until she
experienced another twinge in her abdomen " Okay apart from
these practice contractions that I've been having for most of
the morning, they normally go away like they have done over the
last couple of days but ... she stopped as a second twinge hit
more painful than the last one and the realisation hit " Jake I
think these aren't practice ones".

Jacob jumped when Brooke experience pain. He looked at her and
said "Did your water broke? If it did, we need to go to sickbay
now." He held her hand and slowly stood her up.

As Jacob helped her to stand up that question was soon answered
as she felt a strange whooshing sensation and looked down " Your
right we do they've just broke " she replied trying to remain
calm but with being three weeks early she couldn't help but
panic slightly.

Jacob looked seeing a water stain on the ground. That signaled
saying that Caia Mae is on her way. "OK dear. Let's get going."
He begins helping her to the door.

"Jake I don't think I'm going to make it to Sickbay " She

through her leaving her rooted to the spot. Now that her waters
had gone the contractions where coming faster and stronger and
didn't think she would make it out of their quarters before the
baby arrived.

Jacob looked at Brooke as she was in even more pain. She then
said there was no way to get to Sickbay. "OK." He said and
helped her back on the couch. He gently lays her down and helps
get ready. "Looks like we are having a home delivery."
