The minute Jacob spoke to their unborn daughter and rubbed her
abdomen she immediately responded leaving Brooke slightly
breathless as she kicked and somersalted inside her " she
definitely knows her daddy's voice" she replied smiling " won't
be that long now before we get to see her properly". Brooke
loved moments like this when it was just the two of them sharing
this unique experience but this was just the beginning.

Josh heard the message from the counselor. =^=Acknowledged, I'll
be right there. =^= Josh looked over towards a young ensign.
"Ensign Phillips take over." Josh then stood up and headed for
the turbo lift. Moments later Josh arrived at the counselors
office and pushed the door chime.

"I can't wait for that day." Jacob replied to Brooke about the
birth of their daughter. "She is definitely gonna be an athletic
and fighting woman." He giggled as he continued rubbing her
belly.

"She most certainly is and without a doubt a daddy's girl too"
Brooke replied as their daughter continued responding to her
father's movements. " it might be worth asking Doctor Deito
about a birth plan when I go for my follow up appointment,
speaking of which would you like to come with me?".

Counsellors Office
Christopher heard the chime and looked up at the door. "Please,
come in." Was all Christopher said as he waited for Joshua to
come in.
Christopher was preparing what he was going to ask him, he
wanted to make sure that Joshua was ok after losing the command
of his ship, the Atlantis. He was aware of how that can change
people's attitudes towards admirality and Christopher wanted to
make sure that no matter what he felt towards admirality,
professionalism would come before feelings, he didn't want the
commander to go backwards in his career and Christopher wouldn't
be surprised if he was made a captain again in the future. From
what he'd heard, Joshua was a fine captain, sometimes breaking
the rules lead to things like this though.
As Joshua entered, Christopher stood up and smiled at the former
captain. "Please, take a seat commander. Could I interest you in
a drink while we are here?" He asked.

Jacob smiled and lifted up her shirt and kissed her bare belly.
He then said "Of course I'll join you. I'll get dressed." He
gets out of bed and goes over to get on his uniform. He was
excited to see how things were for their daughter and what they
should do to prepare for when she arrives. Hopefully, it isn't
too long that Caia Mae will be held in their arms, running
around their feet and being here.

Deck 4 - The Edwards Quarters
Brooke smiled as Jacob tenderly kissed her abdomen before he got
out of bed to get dressed before she also finished getting ready
by putting on her tunic, it still felt a little strange wearing
Teal instead of Red but would never regret her decision to lower
her rank further to remain with her husband and not miss out on
moments like this. " I just thought this will be the first one
you've been too with me " she said as she got up of the bed
slowly and walked over to Jacob " We could always ask if we can
see her on the ultrasound what do you think ?".

Jacob smiled when Brooke suggested seeing their daughter on the
ultrasound. "That would be wonderful." He replied. He finished
getting dressed and held out his hand so the couple will head to
Sickbay.

The Edwards Quarters
"Then we'll ask once we get there so you get to see her this
time instead of just the picture " Brooke replied smiling back ,
just seeing her husband's reaction and enthusiasm was enough not
to wipe the smile off her face and had made everything that had
gone wrong lately that more bearable to deal with. She took hold
of his hand and together they walked out of their bedroom and
quarters for the nearest turbolift.
