she was looking in the right direction before setting off.

head towards the cave." She informed the Captain as she stepped
out of the wrecked Shuttle. "Tell me about your past and I'll
tell you about mine... Well, anything you don't already know."
She said with a giggle, referring to him more than likely to
have already read her file.

something they could talk about to keep them occupied on the
long walk ahead of them. Maria had by no means forced the
Captain to tell her, as she knew about confidentiality.

"I think you're right, the cave would be less obvious than any
structures and might even provide some natural camouflage." John
said tightening the shoulder straps on his backpack. He gave a
half smile to the Lieutenant, she was very astute with her
assumption that he'd read her file. It was good practice for a
commanding officer to do so, it usually paid off when you worked
with people for long periods. "Just a moment." He said moving
back into the shuttle and taking a couple of minutes to rig the
ship to blow. Running back out of the craft he grabbed Maria's
arm and tugged her arm to follow him. "I've set the ship to
destruct, I've got a theory as to why we were shot down."

"Understood." She said referring to him setting the ship to blow
and having an idea as to why they were shot down.
She assumed he was going to tell her when they were in a more
secure area, so she just followed him while looking between; The
Captain, the ground and her tricorder. After a few moments, a
bigger smile came onto her face as some bad results got to her.
"Sir, it looks like some sort electrical storm is coming our
way. It's a long way off yet, but we're not going to be able to
stop as it's moving double our speed. Luckily, it's double the
distance away from the cave that we are, so we should hopefully
make it."

"Ah well looks like we're going to be nice and fit then."
Anderson replied.
He didn't like the idea of being caught in an electrical storm,
not in unfamiliar terrain and with an enemy force probably in
search of them. He'd released the Lieutenant's arm, not wanting
to pull her over while moving at a quick pace, nor did he want
to fall himself.
"Alpha Six." He said looking towards the Science Officer. "I was
in the Alpha units."
