After listening to the Commander while looking at her Tricorder,
she then turned and looked up at him.
"Sir, I'm detecting eight life signs towards the centre of the
ship... They look weak." She informed the Commander.

A not too loud, but very audible and shrill whistle like noise
echoed through the corridors. Could it be a cry of pain or could
it be the result of something hydraulic malfunctioning.

The USS Washington has completely disappeared from sensors, her

Maura had kept to the back of the away team keeping an eye on
her surroundings as they walked slowly through the bay, stopping
briefly as the loud shrill whistle sounded through the
corridors. When the XO looked at them and wondered what it could

she couldn't be a hundred percent certain. " It reminds me of

could be wrong" she offered wanting to be useful.

When the noise rushed through the corridors, a slight shiver
flew down Maria's spin. When the Commander asked what it was,
       she looked up.
"I don't know what it is, but I don't think it is the forward
manifolds... Although I do get where you are coming from." She
said then continuing after taking a breath, "I have no idea what
it is, but I think it's best we find out before too long, incase
it's something that could harm us."
Maria had told the truth and it was more than happy to try to
help the Benzites and get far far away from the ever growing
       eeriness of the freighter.

Anderson sat in his chair wondering about the Washington, how
could such a slip have occurred with their 'Gone Dark'
procedure. He'd ordered the ship back towards the freighter and
more importantly the away team. It was only a short journey back
to the area, it wasn't as if they'd got far. He'd sent a message
to Fleet Command about the Washington, whether he would hear
anything remained to be seen. One idea occurred to him was that
Intelligence were covertly looking for signs of brewing
hostilities, if that was the case then they'd screwed up with
       their discovery.

With a shake of his head, the Captain decided to put all his
energy into worrying about his away team. Then he remembered
that the Chief Engineer hadn't reported to the shuttle, he
reached down and tapped the intercom.
=/\=Anderson to Commander Howell, please report your

       Turbolift 2 - Deck 12, Section 21B
Since having his shoulder fixed by a Medic, he returned
collected an engineering kit and returned to the turbolift that
he had effectively crashed in. Locking the turbolift from

usually engineering get warnings when components are in need of
replacement. Inspecting the sensors and then climbing back into
the lift to conduct analysis of the computer, he found that they
were damaged. The computers circuit boards had been fried by
what appeared to be done by some form of magnetic distortion.
Just then, the captain came through over COMMS =/\= I am
currently on Deck 12, Section 21B. Turbolift 2 has had a

       Bridge
John frowned at the Chief Engineers report, he didn't like the
fact that he'd been injured, he never did like to hear of
colleagues being hurt. But the mention of worn components was a
concern, the computer and sensor systems being damaged by the
magnetic distortion was at least explainable.
"Mr Bozian, you have the bridge." John ordered as he stood
heading for turbolift one. "Deck 12."
       Deck 12, Section 21B
Anderson found the Chief Engineer quickly. "Are you sure about
these worn components Commander, need I remind you this ship is
only one month out of the construction yards?"

B'Ozian rose from his seat and walked over to centre seat, The
Washington had moved on after apparently the repairing their
comm system and now all his focus was on the shuttle and ship
       they were approaching.
His mind kept drifting to Maria and hope she was safe, the fact
Howell had not gone on the away team concerned him especially as
       he would happily have gone.

       Deck 12 - Section 21B
Howell was working on the turbolift and was surprised to see the
Captain arrive. He looked some what scruffy as he had his
sleeves rolled up and the zip slightly undone on his uniform
jacket, a typical engineering thing. He was also quite surprised
that the Captain was somewhat blunt about the situation. Jumping
down from the roof of the lift, he replied "Captain, I am sure
about these components, I don't know how old they are, but I can
tell you they aren't a month old." Picking up a bracket from the
turbolift floor, he showed it to the Captain continuing in a
much softer voice, so only Captain Anderson could hear him "This
bracket latches the bolts and runners to the cables. This is one
of the components that broke and caused the lift to decent
rapidly. I'd expect to see this on a ship that was probably
       nearing it's 5 yearly service."
