I can confirm that they are Benzite's. The ship looks to be a
small freighter of some kind. The interference is too much to
say exactly what kind of freighter. I also can't tell if there
is anything wrong with the ship through the interference." She
finished, struggling to get much more information. "To get a
better reading we'd need to get even closer." She added.

Maura turned to face the Chief of Ops when he spoke to her and
thought about his question, everything until they approached the
edge of the asteroid field had appeared normal apart from the
odd glitch but put that down to where they are. " Nothing major
Lieutenant, there was a couple of glitches but I compensated for
those as we approached the asteroid field". When Captain
Anderson then spoke she turned round " Aye Captain " she said
turning back " reversing engines now " she added moving swiftly
until the ship responded and reversed to a safe distance. As she
did that she heard Lieutenant Dyson behind her " What about a
shuttle rather than risk taking the ship in ?" she suggested.

"Aye Sir" B'Ozian answered the Captain before nodding towards
the helm in acknowledgement. He reached forward and opened the
comms channels =A=This is the USS Churchill, we are picking you
up on our sensors are you in need of assistance? =A= he hailed
as ordered and repeating the message on multiple frequencies as
he tried to make contact.
"Captain, Either they are not getting the message or unable to
answer but i am not receiving any response" he looked briefly
over to the Captain and wondered about the idea of taking a
shuttle into the field.

The whole situation was odd to say the least, why was a Benzite
ship tucked in amongst the rocks. The only thing he could
imagine were the magnetic forces had pulled the ship in, but
would that have kept the ship in one piece? He took a breath and
thought about the situation some more. "I don't understand this
situation at all, a freighter in the asteroid field and yet she
seems to be in one piece despite these magnetic forces." John
said. So why was the Churchill suffering from some kind of
affliction?

'A shuttle' The words rung out in the Captain's head.
The Benzite ship was clearly much smaller and more compact than
the Churchill, that could possibly in Anderson's eyes make the
Benzite vessel safer in the belt. "Opinions people, could a
smaller ship survive longer inside the belt, with the magnetic
forces?"

"Understood Lieutenant." Anderson replied turning back to the
viewer and observing the ship visually.
The Captain didn't have to be an Engineer to know how magnetic
forces could affect the transporters, that gave the shuttle idea
more credit. "X.O." Anderson called.

"Sir. I don't know if it would be a good idea to send a shuttle
in. The Churchill has a stronger force to pull away than the
freighter, but a shuttle is much smaller than the freighter. If
there is something holding the Benzite freighter in place then
sending something smaller in may endanger the people in the
shuttle..." Maria paused and shook her head then continuing "I
don't understand the situation at all and although it may be
dangerous, sending a shuttle in may be our only option." She
finished waiting for other reports.

"I don't understand either Lieutenant, a shuttle might be the
only option." Anderson said moving back to the command chair and
sitting himself down. "The asteroid field is too dense to take
the Churchill into." He turned his seat right to face Brown.
"I'd value your opinion here Commander?"

John stood at his station and listened to the officers around
him and kept a close eye on the unknown ship. He already had
weapons and shields on standby incase the order was given or iff
they were surprised. John remember during the war the Dominion
would use unknown vessels from the Gamma Quadrant ambush
Federation ships. He did not believe that was what this was but
he knew they should be ready. He missed the days growing up when
Starfleet would get to expolor without every having to arm
weapons for ships they only had to destory asteroids. He longed
to know what that was like, but since the war you could never be
to careful with the unknown and he hated that fact.

Maria rattled her brain trying to think of an alternative, but
since they could not use the transporters to get too and from
the ship, it looked as though the danger may have been their
only option to get a closer look and Maria had a feeling that
the risk would be worth it, but that all depended on the CO and
XO's decision.
Looking over the information on the screen, the pilot of the
shuttle would be able to navigate through, but they were
probably going to have to do it without the help of the computer
systems, depending on the interference. Though to be fair Maria
had no idea about the helm so she could have quite easily have
been thinking wrong.

John peered at the viewscreen mulling over the options then
turning to the Captian.
"Transporters are too high of a risk with all the Interference
so I suggest that we use a Shuttle with an Away Team to
investigate I suggest we take the Science Cheif, Secuity Cheif
and ether the Cheif Engineer or Cheif Ops to assit" Finished

Anderson nodded in agreement to Brown.
"Assemble your away team Commander, take Commander Howell with
you. If that ship is in any kind of trouble, he should be able
to get her moving if possible."
