Mission 1.1 - The Passenger
DIR By: John Anderson
Date: October 13, 2016, 4:45 pm
---------------------------------------------------------
"Captain's log supplemental,
After months of repairing proverbial bridges and continued
efforts into getting Starfleet and the Federation back up and
running, we have finally been assigned duty fitting this fine
class of starship. The Churchill has been sent to Sector 441 to
conduct various patrols and scientific studies. Specifically the
Jazora belt, until now it has had little studies conducted by
the Federation or Starfleet."
Bridge
Anderson sat in the command chair and viewed the space rocks of
the Jazora Belt passing by along the left side of the
viewscreen. The chair was still taking some getting use to, the
Captain still hadn't managed to find his seated posture. Over
his time in the Fleet, John had worked with various Captains and
seen that most of them sit in a unique fashion, whether that be
leaning forward, to one side or whatever.
In the back of the Captain's mind was the Andorian incident, no
doubt it was on the minds of the crew. The disease, virus or
bio-weapon was fast acting and only seemed to attack non humans,
which in Anderson's mind swayed more towards a weapon of some
sort. Ships including the USS Atlantis had been sent to the
Andorian Sector, in hopes of finding out what was happening.

Bridge
As the lift doors opened B'Ozian lowered his head and stepped
through them onto the bridge with what passed for a smile on his
face as he thought of the planned date he and his wife had
arranged on the holodeck.
"Captain" he briefly acknowledged the CO as he walked across to
Ops and slipped into the seat, He was still getting comfortable
as he ran reports on the ships status. The Science labs as usual
were drawing the most power at the moment but with all the work
they were doing he was not surprised, he only needed to see how
tired his wife was most nights to understand the workload.
"Ship functioning within acceptable parameters sir" he reported
as he continued to manage power distribution.

John nodded to the mighty Caitian officer as he entered and took
his post at Ops. B'Ozian was also taking some getting use to,
not that the Captain was against the officer in any way shape or
form. It was just the size of the man and what John considered
to be an even more alien appearance than he was use to. The deep
voice and rolling of his words were similar to Klingon speech
patterns, but there was something of an animal quality in his
voice. The Lieutenant had come aboard with his human wife Maria,
who was the Chief Science Officer.
"Thank you Lieutenant." Anderson replied keeping a straight
face, one thing he'd learnt was not to smile at a Caitian.

"Commander." Anderson replied with a nod and likewise lack of
familiarity. Brown was a friend of old to the Captain, both had
served together both prior and during the Dominion War. As soon
as the Captain received his orders to assume command of the
Churchill, his first and only choice for his right hand man was
John Brown. Though again in those uncertain times, it was odd to
see the Brown in his new position.
With a slight nod in the direction of the viewer, Anderson
spoke. "We've arrived at the Jazora Belt."

[Chief of Security's Office]
John scratched his neck and brushed his fingers against his
third holo pip and smiled still getting use to the feeling of it
being there. He had been reading sector tactical reports from
Sector 441 mainly the area od the Jazora belt. While he read the
reports his mind kept wondering to his former crew and the
people of the Andorian system. John stood up and mad his way to
the door of his office, he straighten his uniform and headed for
the Bridge.
[Bridge]
John stepped onto the Bridge and noticed the CO and XO in their
chairs and his friend B'Ozian at OPS. He walked over to the main
tactical station and began to check the status of tactical so he
could give a report when asked.

John looked at the viewscreen seeing the sight before them then
taking a breath for a moment.
"Did we detect anything?; or is this normal Space dust" Finished
Brown as he put his one hand under his chin

Bridge - Helm
With the ship having arrived at its destination, Maura continued
to keep watch over the controls in case any sudden course
corrections where needed but so far everything remained in the
green. Sitting back as she monitored the systems she thought
about the changes in her life since the war and how she would
never of imagined that she would be piloting a Starship instead
of a Freighter. Yes she missed those days and the freedom it
gave sometimes but knew she had made the right choice in serving
Starfleet and how happy it made her brother. She smiled at the
memory of when she first told him and remembered that she needed
to send a message to him when her shift ended but for now
returned to her duties.

Mess Hall.
Maria was running a little late as she was still tired from
working in the Lab the night before and earlier in the morning.
She had sent a message to the Officer on duty and everything was
fine,so she had enough time to nip into the Mess Hall for a
quick coffee.
After quickly finishing her coffee, she then rose from the table
and made her way to the Bridge.
Bridge.
Walking onto the Bridge, she walked round the back of the room
to reach the Science Station.
"Is there anything to report Ensign?" She asked as the Young Man
rose from his chair.
"Not that I know of." He said looking a little unnerved and then
quickly heading to the Turbolift.
Lowering herself into the chair, Maria looked over the reports
on the console and then turned to the Ops Station.
"Lieutenant Dyson, can you confirm the metallic mass at the
coordinates I transferred to you?" She asked her husband waiting
for a reply.

Bridge - Ops
At the sound of his wife's voice B'Ozian raised his head from
the console and looked over to the science station as he saw her
he could see how tired she looked and hoped there date would not
be postponed.
He returned his attention to the console and worked the sensors
trying to get a lock on the anomaly, he scratched his chin as he
worked until he almost growled at the sensors, "I can confirm a
metallic mass but due to distortion of the sensors I am unable
to confirm the dimensions or compostion of the mass".
He turned again to look across the bridge at the crew and Mari,
he was disappointed that he could do no more than confirm the
readings. The Caitian had worked long and hard first as an
engineer before specializing in ship operations and was annoyed
that the limitation of the sensors had let him down.
