John reached into his back trouser pocket and produced a small
Padd. "You mean this Master Chief, this request for
compassionate leave?" Anderson asked mockingly. Looking to his
right the Captain was aware of the large rock that stood in the
corner of the garden, with a quick flick of the wrist the device
crashed up the side of the rock, it buzzed for a second before
fizzing out of life. "I can't believe you'd give up on Alpha Six
so easily, true the Units are inactive now, but we'll always
have it between us and...." John looked towards the cabin. "And
the others."
The Captain stood face to face with the wreck of his friend.
"You know how things are Brown, risk assessments are done and
decisions made on that basis. Are they always accurate, not in
the frakking slightest." Anderson scowled. "I can think of a
half dozen missions we were on, that shall we say didn't go to
plan." The Captain sighed. "But there was always that one guy I
could rely on, for his quick thinking and calm posture....I
wonder what happened to him."
Anderson waited a few moments for the drunken fool to process
his words. "I have no idea who you are, just some sad pathetic
excuse of a human being who lost someone.....well news flash
John, you're not the only one." The Captain's words were
purposely to the point and lacked compassion. "The John Brown I
know wouldn't have retreated at the sight of adversity, no he
would have faced and not blamed everybody else for his problems
and dealt with it."
Again with his move calculated, Anderson turned his back on
Brown and moved to the small pond that graced the view from the
cabin. At its edge he looked across the cool and crystal clear
water. "I dread to think what Kristi would think, but I know
what she would have done. She would have stayed and continued to
do what she did best, help those in need." Anderson took a
breath. "The war isn't over Master Chief....in fact it won't be
for a long time."

John eyes flaired as he looked at the back of John Anderson.
"You can say anything about me but never about Kristi do'nt go
down that route give me that at least" Finished John as he took
steps forward and looked at the pool of water and saw his face
nothing about it was somthing that he knew he looked to John.
"Hell Yes I given up why should I have any faith left with the
Federation they took everything from me my fighting spirt is
gone I am broken" John finished then looking back at John "Just
put me out of my miserable existence I am not the Man I was
doubtful I would be again" Brown finished

Brown turned away which in turn angered Anderson, reaching out
he grabbed the man's shoulder and turned him back. "Where do you
think you're going Coward, running away like a scared little
Ferengi?" On that the Captain reached out his other hand and
grabbed Brown's other shoulder, before pivoting around and
thrusting the drunk into the ice cold water. Anderson charged
into the water after Brown, the chilly water went to the height
on his knee's. Reaching down he once again grabbed Brown and
pulled him face to face. "Wake the frakk up John, I loved Kristi
too, she was a wonderful woman." Anderson said before dunking
Brown for several seconds. His words were true, but the word
love was not meant in the same way as it would to Brown. During
their time in the Alpha Unit's, the members of the team had
bonded into close friendships and that included their families,
they in effect became family.

haven't yet but dammit John it's my fault it is my frackong
fault she begged me to take a shuttle from the Essex before our
assault as we were in range and I didn't I left her to die"
Finished Brown as he spit "So I am going do do a Final Mission a
suicide mission it is the only way to pay back what I cost my

Brown down and standing upright before turning to walk back to

cowards way out." John run a hand through his partially wet hair
and stepped onto firm ground. Then he turned to see the
partially submerged Brown, only his head, shoulders and chest
were visible. "Nobody won that war John, it ended and now
millions of people are paying the toll. Some have paid the
ultimate price already and its up to us to do our utmost to do
two things, one to do make sure those sacrifices are not in vain
and two to try and stop it happening to anyone else." Anderson

stuck in like a knife he looked to his right and looked towards
the horzion he felt the cool breeze thought his dripping wet
hair.
"I guess it would be a long road but I don't know if I can do it
to be honest I been broken into peices" Finished Brown

Anderson exhaled loudly and narrowed his eyes towards Brown.
"I..I..I, me, me, me is all I am hearing Master Chief." The
Captain said in a frustrated tone. After another breath he
added. "You had my back during the war and I had yours, that
will not change as far as I am concerned Mr Brown. I am damn
sure we can get through this together."
