solution to a problem. "That sounds like a plan Mr Brown, stand
by."
The ship began to rock as the thrusters strained against the
twisting hull.

Jasmine had been waiting until the right moment to release the
clamps, as if they had done it sooner some of the debris could
have struck the drive section and blown back into the saucer
section, which could well have destroyed the ship.

see how the rest of the plan laid out.

Seperation Control Room
As soon as the order came in the three engineers jumped into
action releasing the clamps. One and three released without a
hitch but the second one jammed and would not release. Christian
decided there was no time to lose and it didn't make a
difference to the future of the ship if he was gentle, he
grabbed a fire axe from the wall and swung it as hard as he
could at the final clamp, There was a shower of sparks as the
axe scraped over the clamp and down the wall before crashing
into the deck.
There was a brief groan as the clamp released slowly but it did
relaease =/\= Clamps released and separation initiated, get us
out of here commander =/\=
Christian let his hand fall down after he tapped his comm badge
as for the first time for an hour he relaxed and finally
realised the blood on his face was his.
"Nolan keep an eye on things from here I'm heading to the
bridge" With that Grix turned on his heel and headed out of the
control room.

Bridge
Anderson noticed the short delay between the order and the
separation, every second felt like months of waiting in the
uncertainty. Once the drive section was shed, the saucer section
lurched forward as the engines propelled the significantly
smaller craft. John was thrown forward onto the console and had
to use all of his strength to push away from the interface.
"We're breaking free." John shouted over the rumbling and
complaining twisting metal. "Brown blast the drive section."

John nodded as he entered the Commands into the Tatical Station
then within a few seconds he got a confirmation beep.
"Hold on to somthing we going to feel the shockwave" Finished
John as the aft section exploded

boom. The bow of the saucer tipped forward and once again John
found himself pinned to his console. Looking at his readouts he
saw the power to the propulsion system was failing, with no more
to do he took a breath and hit the impulse controls. The
opposite reaction took over and thrust everyone on the bridge
backwards. The impulse burst projected the saucer into space,
colliding with several pieces of debris as it went. Fortunately
the momentum slowed as the impulse engines cut out, the sheer
gravimetric pressure also stopped and allowed free movement.
"Everyone alright?" The Commander asked.

Turbolift
Moments before the turbolift had moved, the whole ship or at
least what was left of it shook violently and Christian was
again thrown against the bulkhead leaving a smear of blood on
the wall from his hands. He slumped against the wall as he
called out "Bridge" and the doors closed.
He staggered from the lift with the blood covering his face and
wandered onto the bridge "Did we get away ok"? he asked as he
leaned against the bulkhead and surveyed the damaged bridge.

John stood and left the helm at that point, there was nothing
left to be done with. He turned at hearing the turbolift doors
and subsequent unfamiliar voice, Anderson took a breath before
nodding. "Just." Was all he said.
Looking back to the ops station, John patted the Ensign on the
shoulder. "You did good." He began with praise. "But if I could
impose on your technical skill a little more? Could you see
what's around us?" His attention drifted to the flickering view
screen. "Or perhaps get that working." He said nodding towards
the viewer. "At least we can then look out of the window." Said
with a chuckle.

from it he looked with determination then he face sad it all he
shook his head as he looked.
"Sorry Commander; what was left of the Sheild Grid is gone as
well as the weapon systems the ODN lines for the Weapons array
are fused and I do'nt think we should worry about them look like
were away from most of the fighting for now" Finished Brown

John turned to face his friend the Master Chief and gave a
simple nod. The Commanders shoulders sagged as he began with a
sigh of relief, his attention then moved those who laid around
him. Medical teams began to arrive and do what they could.
Anderson didn't have to be an Engineer to know that there was
little point salvaging the Essex, not if the damage to the
bridge was any indication as to what the rest of the ship was
like.
"Have we tried the communications yet?"
