The Bajoran nodded with a small smile. "Aye sir, thank you
sir." he said, turning on his heels and walking out of the ready
room feeling better than when he went in. He just so happened
to catch his reflection on a panel; despite being in blue, he
still held three full pips. He was still a full Commander.
He did have an urge to give orders after hearing what the
Captain said, but instead channeled that pagh towards Brooke.
"Commander. Looking forward to working with you." he said,
walking behind the wooden handrail and stood next to tactical,
watching the viewscreen.

Josh stepped out of his office. He decided to proceed ahead of
schedule. He heard that a new CMO has reported in according to
the transporter logs. He looked at the bridge and noticed a
young female ensign. He didn't recognize her. He walked
towards Brooke. "Commander set course for Andoria warp 6." He
leaned in close. "Commander who is this ensign and her
assignment. I don't know her."

Brooke noticed their new Chief Science Officer walk out from the
Ready Room and smiled when he spoke to her " I look forward to

prepared to get up from the command chair when the Captain
returned to the Bridge until he leaned in close and asked about
the Ensign sat next to her. " Ensign Reava Deito our new Acting
CMO, Captain" she said quietly " She requested a meeting with
you, I'm happy to take us out while you speak to her ".

Josh nodded. "Yes thank you commander." Josh turned to the CMO.
"Ensign....or should i say doctor. Please join me in my ready
room." Josh said as he walked passed her and went into his ready
room once again. He stood in front of his desk as he did not
want this to be a long meeting, and there was a briefing with
his senior staff informing them about there mission and
guidelines.

"He is resting well ma'm." It was all she could say without
blurting out the poor Lieutenant's medical files for the whole
ship to hear and Reava hoped that the first officer would
understand why she was reluctant to say more. Besides it was her
duty as a medical professional only to discuss a patient's
medical history and such with a family member or the Captain or
in a more confined area with people that the Captain trusted to
not spread out the Lieutenant's condition like a fire would
spread.
Once Reava saw the Captain she watched him and waited for the
first officer to introduce her, hands to each side.

"Yes sir." She quickly walked and was not too far behind him and
was able to enter. "I just wanted to introduce myself and give
you an update on the Lieutenant, Sir. As the first Officer said
I'm Reava Deito your new acting Chief Medical Officer, I got the
assignment while heading from the Starbase to Atlantis. As for
the Lieutenant I have him to where he's no longer seizing but he
still isn't well. He's sleeping until I can figure out what's
wrong but I'm exploring all options and not just Klingon
diseases. Good news is that he doesn't have a parasite."

[Security Chief's Quarters]
=/\="You can relay the information to me in person when you are
able."=/\= he said getting back to the specs he was reading. But
his mind began to wonder in thought to his family and how he
hopped he would have a message from them on his birthday. He
shook his head at the distraction and continued hiswork.

Bridge
Brooke was pleased to hear that Lieutenant Shepard was doing
well and understood that the Doctor couldn't say more in such a
public area. However wanted to check on him as with all crew she
was concerned with their welfare. With the Captain and CMO
leaving for their meeting and all departments bar one checking
in, she would still carry out the Captain's order and have the
ship leave spacedock a little earlier so they could begin their
mission to Andoria. Looking over at Ensign McQueen " Ensign
please take us out and set a course for Andoria,Warp 6 " she
ordered then opened a ship wide channel =/\= Attention all
hands, prepare for departure =/\=

Josh let out a smile. "That's good, I'm sure you're aware the
Lieutenant Shepard is my brother, my adopted brother but we was
raised together, the only difference is our species." Josh then
folded his arms across his chest. "So an ensign has been
assigned as acting CMO of my ship. They normally don't have
Ensigns as a department head so I'm going to assume that you're
overly qualified. Well doctor just to inform you i normally send
a medical person with the away team just as a precaution. I
trust there are no objections. Do you have anything else to
report or do you have any questions or concerns doctor." Josh
asked while he adjusted his uniform shirt.

Nine Lives, Deck 10
Oskin Alexander had begun on his second Delvan fluff pastry as
he heard how the atmospheric locks on the umbilical connectors
between starship and starbase depressurised and reverberated
throughout the hull. Ever so slightly, it made the surface of
his raktajino ripple.
Next, Alexander knew, the magnetic seals on the connectors would
be released and the connectors themselves would be retracted to
some distance from the hull before manoeuvring thrusters would
be initially employed to further the distance to the starbase,
then impulse engines would take the starship even further to a
safe distance to go to warp.
Excitedly, the half-Bajoran, half-Human Ensign rose from his
chair slightly as the first few metres of forward motion
occured. Just as impressive it was to be taken across the galaxy
at warp 9.8 -or even at warp 9.975 if one was lucky enough to
serve on any of the Intrepid-class starships- it was just as
equally impressive to experience the whole 4 and a half million
metric tons of the Galaxy-class move at a mere few metres per
second. Alexander looked sideways through the viewport to use
Starbase 378 as reference point in observing movement and felt
entirely captivated by the miracle of spaceflight.
