Ensign Kelvan looked back down to his console. He started
putting together a series of command inputs to get the task
started. Most individuals would probably not even bother, but
the Vulcan engineer thought that he should have the auxiliary
controls on standby just in case they needed to use the weapons.
While the scenario was extremely rare, it was always possible
that some coordinated group would attempt to commandeer another
docked ship right from within the starbase. At least he
wouldn't be "caught with his pants down". A very unusual
colloquial term, but given his understanding of the species,
       quite fitting.
It would take several minutes for the assessment to commence as
the computer had to perform a quantum checksum of the subroutine
framework. Kelvan checked the time, another 2 hours fifteen
until end of shift. He wondered what new antics his Bajoran
       roommate would bring this afternoon.

"That's okay Lieutenant, lets get you to Sickbay" Brooke replied
then looked over at the duty officer "Lieutenant Rogers you have
the Bridge until I get back or if Chief Edwards happens to
arrive before I do " Brooke ordered as Lieutenant Harriman
leaned on her and held himself up. Lieutenant Rogers nodded and
took over the centre chair then making sure she had a decent
grip on Harriman, Brooke began walking slowly towards the
       turbolift.

The USS Atlantis is an hour away from leaving Starbase 378,
their mission to talk to the Andorians and convince them to
remain in the Federation after they decided to leave after
speaking to an as yet unknown third party. The future of the

Josh was on the bridge. He watched as several crew members

       Sickbay
Reava had administered Lieutenant KnodwI a Hyperzine which was a
common treatment for seizures but it also a stimulant and it was
never a good idea to mix the two. So she had to wait a while
before she would be able to tell if she needed a sedative as
well as administering one. If the Lieutenant was calm and his
seizures stopped then she wouldn't administer a sedative,
otherwise she would. "Lieutenant...." She projected feelings of
calm toward the Klingon hoping he'd accept them and not go into
another fit. "You're in the sickbay, you've just had a seizure."
[quote=Joshua Shepard]He tapped a button on his chair and made a

One hour away from departure and she had a Klingon with an
unknown disease that was causing him to suffer seizures to which
Reava was seriously doubting that it was just a Klingon disease
and had met the Captain. During the meeting she had informed him
that she was the Acting Chief Medical Officer and would keep him
       updated on the Lieutenant's condition.
Glancing over at the other Ensign assigned to the sickbay Reava
smiled lightly, "I want to thank you for all that you've done,
however I need your help to make sure we're stocked and ready to
go." Of course Reava would keep a close eye on her patient but
she needed to make sure that the sick bay prepped and ready for
       departure.

       Nine Lives, Deck 10
Ensign Oskin Alexander gently blew across the surface of a mug
of raktajino. From his table, he had a clear view of space ahead
of USS Atlantis through the massive windows. Several shuttles
buzzed by as the Galaxy-class starship made its final
preparations to clear moorings and get under way.
The half-Bajoran, half-Human tried a careful sip of the still
scalding beverage. His duty shift was not for another three
hours, until after USS Atlantis departed for Andoria, but
Alexander had had a restless night and could not pretend to try
and sleep any longer. Best to get up and get it over with. He
felt exhausted, though. The past three days had been as hectic
as they had been active. The results spoke for themselves,
though. USS Atlantis was fully capable of enduring a three year
mission away from any resupplying post.
Carefully, he put down the mug and opened the book he had
brought. He turned away from the viewports, found his bookmark
and continued to read where he left off...
       CHAPTER XIX
On the twenty-fourth of August the battle of the Shevardino
Redoubt was fought, on the twenty-fifth not a shot was fired by
either side, and on the twenty-sixth the battle of Borodino
       itself took place.
