Observation Lounge
"This is how i want this to go, obviously we'll adjust it if
need be. I will go down with an away team. Consisting of
myself, Doctor Deito, and Ensign McGrory. Main reason because i
don't want them to be surrounded by top federation officers they
may feel like they are being ganged up on. I don't want to turn
an already tense situation into something much more serious. So
Commander Edwards." He said turning to Brooke. "You'll be in
command with your husband acting as your first until my return.
Ensign Oskin i want you to conduct low level scans for any ships
or anything out of place for this region of space. You will
then give standard reports every fifteen minutes to commander
Edwards, you will also work closely with Lt. Harriman with any
strange readings." Then Josh looked over at Doctor Deito. Doctor
you're coming with me mostly because they respect women but you
need to promise me that you will not use your talents on them
unless I authorize it. They're not to fond of Betazoids. I'm
taking ensign McGrory with me for a security detail and he will
not act unless i give the order. So worth thar being said does
anyone have any questions or concerns, please speak them now."
Josh said as he looked around the table.

Jacob listened as Joshua spoke about what was going down. He was
happy to hear that he will be acting executive officer alongside
his wife while the Captain and the others went on the diplomatic
mission to try to get the Andorians to stay in the Federation.
They are after all one of the founding species of the
Federation. It would sadden Jacob if they were to disband after
being in the Federation for centuries.
He then nodded to the Captain and replied "No questions sir. I
just hope we can get the Andorians to stay with the Federation."

Ensign Oskin Alexander listened attentively and considered each
point the Captain made as it came along. Low level scans to
limit their intentions as being considered intrusive. He made a
mental note to reference the most recently available
astrological data on the Andoria system to cross reference for
anything being out of place. Standard reports every fifteen
minutes. Coordinating these efforts with Tactical.
He nodded as the Captain finished addressing him, indicating he
had understood. As the Captain continued his instructions to the
next officer, it suddenly occured to him that he might want to
read up on techniques to gather circumstantial evidence of the
presence of cloaked ships.

Brooke listened as the Captain explained what he wanted to
happen, remaining quiet as she thought about what he had asked.
She was happy to stay on the ship and knew not to override his
orders remembering that the Andorian's had asked for him and
what they had discussed when she had been promoted. The news
that her husband would be on the Bridge with her acting as XO
was welcomed as not only would it give him experience but also
be a reassurance should she need it. When both Jacob and Ensign
Oskin acknowledged the Captain she then spoke " Understood
Captain, but may I make a suggestion have Science work with Ops
and Security as it would give us triple the scope on detecting
any potential threats whilst your down on the surface " she said
looking back at Captain Shepard " Also will you be beaming down
or would a shuttle be safer ?".

Alexander redirected his gaze from the display of starships
along the wall opposite of the large viewports to Commander
Brooke as she mentioned the Operations department. It took him a
few seconds to retrace the words he had not fully paid attention
to, so that he connected Science with the rest of the message.
Next he looked to Commander Tekin and slightly inclined his head
to acknowledge the suggestion in anticipation of the Captain's
consent.

Josh heard Brooke speak about commander Nevir. Then Josh looked
at him. "Forgive me commander, I'm truly sorry." Then turned
to Brooke. "Yes commander that is a very good idea. Now i don't
have to tell you what's at stake here. Things are very tense.
Try not to do anything that would give them any reason to
distrust us. If the Atlantis is encountered by an Andorian ship
remain calm and comply with certain things except being told to
leave their system or requests to be boarded. I doubt that it
would come to that, but use your best judgment. I know you'll
be just fine." Josh then thought about her question of
transportation. "We will beam down, we'll get coordinates from
them so we don't beam in a random area and we could be met
properly."

"Agreed Captain, we will be prepared for all possible outcomes
and will keep you updated if there are any unexpected visitors
or findings " Brooke replied. She knew anything could happen
especially with the way things had transpired and would make
sure that the ship was safe and comply with all requests that
she found reasonable. There was still the possibility of some
unknown faction being responsible for talking the Andorians into
leaving and that would stick with her when they began their
investigation. When the Captain then decided to use the
transporter " Understood may I suggest the team are injected
with transponders just so we can keep tabs on you all in case
anything happens with the communicators?".

Reava listened as the Captain laid out the details on who was to
head down to the planet Andoria with him and heard her name
mentioned. Then the Captain looked directly at her and addressed
her and her alone. "Understood Captain." Though with
circumstances as they were if any concerns were expressed by the
Andorians over her Betazoid blood she knew that the Captain
would handle them. Reava made a mental note to focus on not
picking up on a single thought or emotion no matter how extreme
it was, she'd need to focus but it was possible. For once Reava
was thankful to not have inherited her father's strength of
abilities.

"I agree with Commander Edwards sir." That was all that Reava
needed to say on the matter and she would handle the injections
for everyone including herself.

Ensign Oskin Alexander took a mental note of the debate. Seeing
as how the Captain and his away team, with the injected
transponders, would generate two distinct signals, on top of
their life-signs, for the ship's sensors to track, this meant
that any divergence in location between these signals could be
indicative of trouble. Even if the away team found itself in a
position unable to communicate with the ship, this now also
became a manner in which they could signal trouble.
The young Ensign was hesitant to speak up about this idea,
though. Unsure, perhaps. Intimidated by the gathered experience,
certainly.
