Diplomatic turmoil

The Atlantis was still docked at starbase 378 after helping the
Endeavour back after being crippled. Josh was sitting in his
ready room listening to some 21st century earth style heavy
metal music. Then he recieved a call from Starfleet command.
"Sir. " Josh said to the Admiral that appeared on the screen.
"Hello captain good to see you. I've heard what happened to the
Endeavour, I'm pleased to hear that she still survived. I'm
sorry to bother you while you're on shore leave but we have a
situation. Tensions have grown and the Andorian government has
decided to withdraw from the Federation. We aren't clear why but
we'd like you to go there and try to persuade them to remain
with the Federation. They are one of the founding members, if
they leave it could be a devastating blow. Of course we can't
force them to stay but you need to turn up your diplomatic
charm."
"Aye sir, I'll do my very best." The Admiral looked at Josh and
smiled. "I know you will captain. Lawrence out." The monitor
goes black and Josh sits in his chair. He taps his
communicator. =^=Commander Edwards please join me in my ready
room. Shepard out. =^=

Turbolift/Bridge
Brooke was on her way to the Bridge after her latest antenatal
appointment when her comm badge chirped =/\= Commander Edwards
to Captain Shepard acknowledged I'll be with you shortly =/\=
closing the channel she leaned back against the rail as the lift
took her up to Deck One and wondered what she was needed for.
Then again with her new promotion it was more likely to be about
their next mission or the crew that had transferred from the
Endeavour and knew she would get used to being XO. Although she
had filled the role temporarily on the last mission it was still
new but she had the support of her husband and the Captain. That
reminded her she would need to speak to her husband regarding
her last appointment and had scheduled another before they
shipped out so he could get to see the ultrasound. Smiling at
the thought any more thoughts were interrupted as the lift
stopped and the doors opened, stepping out onto the Bridge she
made her way to the Ready Room and pressed the door chime.

- Bridge -
KnodwI was working at his station. Making modifications to the
control panel for a quicker setup for the tactical station.
Most of the weapons were enhanced the last time they were in
Spacedock. Time will tell if the new setup will work well for
the ship.

Josh heard the door chime. "Come in" Josh said. The doors
opened and the newly promoted commander Edwards entered. "Well
welcome commander. How are you liking your new shirt color? "
Josh asked as he chuckled.

[Security Chief's Quarters]
John finished getting his sword collection arranged, and began
hanging up his uniforms when his PADD beeped. He walked over and
picked it upit was a message from his brother.

John smiled as he read the message and thought, 'WOW! My little
brother is on the Enterprise that great!', he left a note on
his desk to make sure he messged him back and finished his
uniforms. He then straighten up is uniform and made his way to
the Bridge.
[Bridge]
John stepped out of the lift and on to the Bridge, he may not be
ON the Enterprise but he was on a Bridge just like hers. He
walked up to the Tactical station and noticed who he assumed was
his ADH, working on the station. John stopped and spoke.
"Hello KnodwI I presume?" he said looking at the man, John who
was sixfour know this was one man he may have to 'look up' to.

Ready Room
Brooke smiled at the Captain's comment it was still a little
strange seeing the red instead of her usual teal but she was
getting used to it. "It's not a bad colour and I'm liking it a
lot " she replied still smiling as she walked over to his desk.

Bridge
At his station, Ensign Oskin Alexander kept an eye on the ship's
power management and resource allocation. Power usage was
significantly different whilst the Galaxy-class starship was
docked at Starbase 378, various provisions being supplied to the
ship through the umbillicals that facilitated the transfer of
energy and raw materials between storage facilities at the
starbase and those onboard.
As he performed his duties, he took note of senior officers
stepping onto the deck and when an officer new to the ship
walked onto the bridge.

Josh then grabbed another chair and moved it close. "Well we've
been given a high priority mission. The Andorians have decided
to leave the Federation, they did put off their decision of
doing so until they soak with someone that's not on the
Federation council. So they're sending us. This could break the
very foundation of the Federation of they leave."

Brooke nodded and walked over to the couch and sat down
carefully as she listened to what the Captain had called her for
and it certainly was something she hadn't been expecting as she
had never taken part in a diplomatic mission of any kind before.
However understood the seriousness of the situation and that
Command wouldn't of sent them if they didn't think that they had
a chance of succeeding. " I understand Captain, hopefully we can
convince the Andorian's of why they first joined the Federation
and also maybe find out who they spoke too in case whoever they
are have done this on purpose ".

[B]Engineering[/b]
Jacob walked around Engineering seeing everyone doing their part
as they wanted to be ready for when the Atlantis was ready for
departure. It was a calm day in Engineering and perhaps all over
the ship.
Jacob then decided to head to his office to go over some of the
team's reports.
