Bridge
" Yes Captain" Brooke replied turning her attention back to the
control panel and sent a direct message to Astrometrics to go
ahead and start. She then opened a ship wide channel =/\=
Commander Edwards to all senior staff, please report to the
Observation Lounge for a briefing =/\= Closing it once more she
handed command back to Command to Commander Baker then proceeded
to the Observation Lounge.

" All done Captain" Brooke announced as she walked in and
noticed the schematic of the missing ship, she looked at it for
a few moments and took her place next to the Captain.

"Thank you commander. " Josh said as he didn't even take his
eyes off the screen. "It looks like the entire lower decks have
been refitted to be engineering. The crew quarters have been
cut down and made into weapons stations, and main computer.
It's possible that she has a more advanced computer system than
we have." Josh enlarged the crew quarters and counted them out.
"She looks like she can run on a skeleton crew, I'm taking off
at least seventy. That's probably mostly engineers l, the
command crew, tactical and possible a few science and medical
personnel."

Brooke studied the image again as the Captain spoke, taking in
every detail and marvelled at how clever the design had been in
making a completely different ship. She understood the need for
secrecy regarding it especially as the war had only just ended
but it made their job a little more harder to bring about a
suitable resolution. " Agreed especially with it being unlike
anything we have or had in the fleet".

Jacob got a message from the Bridge about Maintenance work and
smiled. He sent a reply back to let them know they will get a
report once it was finished.

Jacob then smiled some more and said to his staff "That means me
people." He stepped from his console and walked toward
Lieutenant Kerrigan. "Lieutenant, you'll watch Engineering while
I see what our new adventure is about of course?" Kerrigan
smiled and nodded "Of course sir." Jake nooded and patted her
shoulder and headed out of Engineering and down the hall to the
nearest lift.
He steeped into the lift and turned as the doors closed.
"Bridge." He felt the lift moved as it took him to his
destination.

Jacob stepped off the turbo lift and on the Bridge. He walked
over to the Observation Lounge and entered inside.

Jacob looked seeing Josh and Brooke waiting for the rest I'd the
senior staff to join them. "Hello. Made it." He replied.

Observation Lounge
Brooke looked away from the display as the doors opened and her
husband walked in. She was happy to see him but with them being
on duty gave him a smile as the Captain spoke to him and asked
him to take a look at the design of the Windsor. They were
still waiting on the others but hoped that they wouldn't be too
much longer otherwise she would have to hail them again and it
was something she didn't want to have to do.

Learn the ship's systems, they said. It won't take long, they
said. What they hadn't bothered to mention was the million
different quirks and idiosyncrasies that were found in the
innards of every starfleet ship. Doerson had been given the
opportunity to supplement his starfleet training with hands-on
work. Unfortunately for him, this often boiled down to digging
through the dirty work of the plasma and EPS conduits. His hands
had already been burned twice by straying a hand too far during
basic repair work. Mine equipment controls had been so much
simpler than this. Why'd he even bother to join the Academy,
again? Something about self-betterment or related nonsense.
Jonathan sneered as he wiped his hands on the fabric of his
jumpsuit. Singed fingertips wasn't something he was a stranger
to. The shiny surroundings were something new, at least.
Another panel was pulled off the wall, and the inside circuitry
reviewed. Hm, that's nice. Fluctuating linear processor? Thought
I tuned all the ones on this deck already... he mused. He
flipped the coil spanner over in his hand twice as he pondered
the best course of action. It'd be best to avoid confrontation
with the brass by poking too hard at something that didn't fancy
being poked, but... how else was he going to figure anything
else out around here? He'd never been good at learning from the
textbooks.
With the tool in hand, he began tuning the plasma injectors and
the accompanying processors. He'd always felt more comfortable
in the tubes, away from the bustle of the ship. Even after the
incident, being reminded of the mine shafts from his previous
occupation was much more preferable than one would think. The
rest of the ship was too tense, too aggravated. He could never
tell who was feeling what, but he could tell that barreling
towards the neutral zone didn't sit pretty with some of the
crew. Someone on this deck is sad, for instance. I'll never know
who. What a useless skill.
Jonathan wasn't much for strong political opinions-- wherever
the ship went, he'd go along. Best he could hope for was less
bridge shadowing. That made him uncomfortable-- it was hard to
explain what it was like to be able to feel someone judging your
experience, while not being able to tell where the judgement was
coming from.

Jacob took a look at the schematic of the Winsdor. "A Nova Class
ship." He said to them. "Looks like they did some remodeling on
the lower decks. Engineering is where it is and...it looks like
all controls are there." He continued studying the schematic of
the ship.

Brooke looked at the layout again as her husband studied it "
Makes sense I suppose control everything from Engineering where
the majority of people can be in the one place to monitor the
new systems, perhaps only having a few on the Bridge and in the
main Science areas to keep up with the illusion/cover of being a
Science Vessel".

"Exactly, if word of this gets out that the Federation is
developing powerful weapons, it goes against what the
Federation was founded for." Josh let out a deep sigh. "I have
the feeling we may have to destroy her, I'll take the
consequences of that but that thing is not what we are."
