Brooke looked at Josh as he patted her hand and grinned at him,
overseeing the executions would satisfy her blood lust and would
certainly make things interesting when she saw her husband
later. " Thank you Captain it would be an honour to oversee them
and I will always be loyal to you, my husband and the Empire,
you are far from weak and we all make mistakes but to show
strength and the ability to quash those who work against us
       makes up for that ".

Corridor outside the junior officers’ quarters, deck 3
Walking from his quarters towards the turbolift, on his way to
start his shift on the bridge, Alexander had heard them coming
before they announced themselves. It had always been like this,
for as long as he could remember. Growing up as the bastard son
of a Terran officer begotten by his Bajoran prize… it had always
       been like this.
“Ensign…” the voice behind him stressed the rank, as if it
seemed unreasonable to couple the commission to the person that
held it, “Oskin…” If at all possible, the uttering of his
mother’s name held even more loathing than his unfathomable
rank. Somehow… this demihuman had made it through the Imperial
Academy and had been made an officer. Many… most… all of his
peers, probably, could hardly endure the insult.
“Ensign Riggs,” Alexander turned around and acknowledged the
young man that had taken a particular interest to constantly
remind him of the collective loathing of the crew of the I.S.S.
Atlantis. Part of him was surprised that they had allowed him to
turn around at all. Usually Riggs’ tauntings took the form of
ambush. When Alexander saw the four other junior officers and
crewmen that flanked Riggs, Alexander understood.
“There has been an attempt on the Captain’s life,” grinned Riggs
broadly. In the couple of weeks onboard, Oskin Alexander had
come to understand that while Riggs needed no reason whatsoever
to harass him, it was all just a little more enjoyable when some
vague premise could be appropriated to suit the occasion of a
sound thrashing. “We…” Riggs gestured wide at his compatriots,
“have been called upon to seek out the accomplices of the
       would-be assassin.”
Second to the left, at a quick glance, Alexander identified
Petty Officer T’Val. Vulcans were renowned for their prowess in
hand-to-hand combat and their superior stamina. There was to be
no way out of this. At rare occasions, Alexander had managed to
gain the upper hand after being ambushed. Often that had
included his assailants being drunk on liquor or hubris. He had
never had to face these odds. One against five. There was no
reason to delay the inevitable, he was going to get beaten up,
badly… the only guarantee to get at least one decent punch in
himself, was to strike first, strike hard. While Riggs turned
back from having motioned to his left, Oskin Alexander grabbed
the man’s arm, pushed Riggs’ body towards T’Val and when the
Vulcan reacted by pushing Riggs away from himself, Alexander
planted his elbow squarely into that ever broad and mocking
       grin...
       Bridge, deck 1
The turbolift doors slid open and the gold-collared Ensign
limped from the train, holding his elbow close to his right
side. The pressure alleviated the pain on his ribs as he
squinted his left eye, the one eye that had not swollen shut. It
did not take him long to realise the Captain himself was
present, so he straightened up as best as he could and walked up
to the man. “Ensign Oskin reporting for his shift, Captain.”

Josh looked at the new ensign that has been transfered just a
few days ago. He was under training and today was his first
duty day. "Ensign...why do you look like you've been in a
fight." Josh stood up and got in the young ensigns personal
space. "Do not try to lie to me. I want the truth. I will not
have my bridge crew fighting. Now what is this all about. "

Alexander raised an eyebrow. Tried to raise an eyebrow. The
state his face was in did not allow him to betray his surprise
at the Captain's words. Surely the Captain had been to the
Imperial Academy and knew how ruthless training methods were in
this new Terran Empire that defied the Klingon-Cardassian
Alliance. Surely the Captain knew he was half Bajoran...
Perhaps this question was some sort of test. To test Alexander's
loyalty to the Empire and to the Captain personally. The Ensign
straightened up as much as he could before responding to the
commanding officer: "I received instruction from my fellow
junior officers, Captain..." It was no lie, every beating had
been quite educational, a permanent reminder of the Bajoran
heritage that coursed through his veins and what it meant to his
       place in the Empire.

With one functional eye, Alexander followed the interaction
between the Captain and the Second Officer. Part of him was glad
for the interruption in the Captain's questioning; another part
-the part that had grown accustomed to his situatie, the
perpetual strain of constantly being under siege-, simply wanted
the Captain's business with him over with so that he could
commence his duty shift. Ensign Oskin remained at attention as
best he could in expectation of the Captain's verdict.

about the Empire, the traitors and how they would no doubt beg

wouldn't be soft with them pregnant or not.
