Bridge
Kira tugged at her collar slightly, not used to the red,she
sighed as it was still itchy from the first wear, something
she'd hated from the academy up to date. She knew it'd get on
her nerves for the majority of time until she changed out of the
clothes. As the turbolift doors opened Kira pivoted around and
smiled at the Edward's who had made their presence known on the
bridge by walking out of the turbolift.
"Mr and Mrs Edwards, please follow me into the captains office."
Leading the way, Kira led the two into Joshuas office and when
they were in, closed the door behind them. "Captain, I present
to you Mr and Mrs Edwards." She finished, smiling at Joshua and
waiting for the promotions to begin.

Jacob smiled at the Commander and looked at Brooke. "Here we
go." He whispered to her as he followed the Commander to the
Ready Room to meet with the Captain. As Kira announced to Joshua
their presence, Jacob nodded and smiled. "Good to see you again,
Captain."

Captain's Ready Room
Josh heard the doors open and close. He watched as Brooke and
Jacob Edwards stood in front of his desk. He noticed they was
standing at full attention with their hands at their sides, he
noticed a little sweat forming on the brow of Jacob as Jacob
greeted the captain. Josh's face showed no expression then he
spoke. "I've been going over your files and I'm very
disappointed." Josh stood up and walked over to both of them.
"Your records are out of date. They don't show your skill and
dedication. The two of you are a great asset to Starfleet.
Brooke your level of knowledge in the field of science surpassed
what i knew when i was a teacher of combat tactics. Jacob you
know our engines probably better than the ships designers. That
is why i called in a special favor. " Josh turned around and
picked up one of the oak boxes and opened it. "Brooke Edwards i
hereby promote you to the rank of Lieutenant Commander and you
will double as our second officer." Josh then took the two pips
from the box and attached them to her collar. He then turned
back and picked up the other box. "Jacob Edwards i herby
promote you to the rank of Lieutenant Commander and you already
hold the title of chief engineer." Josh then took the two pips
and attached them to his collar. "Congratulations both of you,
I'm sorry this couldn't be a much bigger ceremony but we are
speeding into a hostile situation, but once we complete our
mission we will celebrate your well deserved promotions as they
should be." Josh finally smiled as he shook both of their hands.

Brooke didn't have chance to whisper back to her husband so
simply looked and smiled at him as they were led into the
Captains' ready room. She listened as the Captain spoke to both
of them and was left in stunned silence when announced their
promotions and attached their new pips. She looked to her
husband again before finding her voice and looking towards the
Captain" Thankyou Sir" She replied as it finally began to sink
in. When Commander Wyman offered her congratulations she looked
at the XO " Thankyou Commander, I'm glad we're still aboard".

are missing is their new rank. Relax Kira you're doing just
fine." He said as he patted her on the shoulder. Then he heard
Brooke speak up. "You're both welcome, and i would like to
thank you both for your excellent service." Josh said as he
walked towards the door. "Well we have a mission to do, then a
party to attend so let's go to work people." The doors opened.
"Please join me in the briefing room, we need to inform the
rest of the senior officers." Josh then tapped his communicator

looked at Brooke. He shook Joshua's hand and nodded. "Thank you
sir." He walked to Kira and shook her hand and smiled. "Thank
you Commander."
Jacob looked at Brooke and smiled. "Congrats dear." He followed
Joshua to the Observation Lounge to see what was next in the
agenda.

- Ten Forward-
Rebecca wasn't really all that hungry, but it had been hours
since her last meal. That alone told her it was time to put
something in her mouth. Sure, she could have stayed in her
office, but getting out occasionally provided her a break from
the tedious tasks required of a CMO. Relaxing into her seat she
stared at the sandwich and wondered what it had been in its past
life. That line of thinking ended abruptly.
Taking out her PADD she shot off a message to the Captain,
requesting that in his free time they have a get together. She
hated the word 'meeting', it sounded far too official. All she
wanted to do was touch base and chat, far less serious.

Captain's Ready Room
Kira took up the vacant space which the Edwards had left behind.
She itched at her collar again and then sighed. "I actually hate
this uniform so much. It's not worn in and is itching like
hell." Realising she had completely ignored what Josh had said
she spun around and smiled.
"Sorry... Aye, we do. Are we announcing the Counselors promotion
in the briefing and your scarily large brothers appointment of
DH in the briefing room?" She asked, her Scottish accent
strongly showing at that point. Kira tapped her combadge as
Josh left and walked into the briefing room. =^="Wyman to all
senior department leaders. Please make your way to the briefing
room."=^= As she finished she entered the briefing room herself.

"Congratulations to you too" she replied smiling at her husband
as they followed the Captain to the briefing. Her new rank and
added position of Second Officer would take some getting used
too but was looking forward to learning the role and being the
best she could. She was also looking forward to celebrating
privately with her husband when their shifts finished.
