" Thankyou" she answered in reply to the printout before looking
away from the image when Doctor Booth asked about wanting to
know the sex of the baby, seeing her unborn child for the first
time had drove the thought out of her mind and was glad when he
mentioned it. " Yes please " She replied looking forward to
telling Jacob everything as soon as she could.

David smiled and stood back.
"You can look forward to meeting a little girl in about six
months." Booth said looking towards another of the Medical
staff, who gestured for his assistance. "Now if you'll excuse me
Ensign, talk to Nurse Watkins for your picture and medication."
The Doctor stood back and walked towards the person who needed
his help.

"Thank you and I will " Brooke replied with a smile before
Doctor Booth left to help his next patient, the news that she
was having a little girl left her feeling warm and happy inside
and could tell Jacob later that their instincts had been
correct. Getting up from the bed she walked over to Nurse
Watkins and spoke with her before accepting the medication and
picture from her with a warm smile and a thankyou. She then left
Sickbay clutching both the medication and picture in her hand
and made her way to the turbo lift in order to get back to her
shift. Once inside the lift she tapped her comm badge =/\=
Ensign Edwards to Chief Edwards , I have some news for you when
I see you later, nothing bad but everything went well at the
checkup I've just had =/\= closing the channel she leaned back
and looked at the image of her baby girl again as the lift took
her up towards the Bridge.

Maria looked to Elihu and smiled at him.
"Great news." She said, hoping B'Ozian would say anything else
necessary.

Jacob heard the call from his wife and smiled. He was anxious to
know the news but knew he had to wait till the two were off
duty.
In the meantime, Jacob walked around Engineering seeing how
everyone was doing and making sure the ship continued having a
smooth ride without hitting into a bump.

Bridge
Brooke carefully placed the picture into her uniform as the lift
stopped, she wished she could of seen Jacob straightaway but
duty always came first and she hoped she had least given him
something to smile about until she was able to see him. The
doors opened and Brooke walked out noticing that the Counsellor
had joined them on the Bridge and gave him a small smile of
acknowledgement as she crossed the bridge and resumed her post.

Bridge
Elihu smiled back to Brooke, but mostly because he could feel
her joy. He almost felt as giddy as her, but he kept it in check
because he was, according to medical records, half Vulcan and
other than a few expressions of emotion to re-assure others that
he had them, a counselor who experienced overwhelming emotions
for any reason was rarely looked favorably upon. Turning to the
small console, he swiveled it around and pulled up a list of
crew members who had registered for appointments that day. He
only had six appointments for the next three weeks and only one
today. He noted the time: 1800 hours. That was a shift away. The
counselor's job never ended, but he wouldn't have it any other
way.

"Well seeing as we are here, We are heading for Hadir VI and the
Hawking colony, they were attacked earlier and appear to have
been invaded by unknown forces, Our mission is to investigate
and report our findings back to Star Fleet" He paused and stood
up from the seat before gesturing for Maria to take it,
"The other important thing I need to tell you is important too,
as you know when I took command it was agreed I would only do it
until a suitable new captain was found, So with immediate effect
I have been reduced in rank to Commander" He reached up and
removed the fourth pip from his collar, I am sure you will all
serve the new captain as you have me".
"My first action as the new First Officer is to announce the
name of the new Captain" He reached out his hand with the pip in
it and smiled "Captain Sharpe I believe you will need this,
Congratulations Maria".

A rush of confusion, joy and excitement ran through Maria as
B'Ozian spoke. She was honored to have been promoted to Captain
and also knew it was what B'Ozian wanted from past discussions
between them.
"Thank you Commander." Maria said, taking the pip and sitting
down in the command chair. Placing it on her collar, Maria
smiled to herself, then looking up at B'Ozian and asked
"Anything else I need to know about our mission?"

"Captain, the only thing I think you should take into
consideration is the reputation of the colony, they are known
for some shady dealings, the Federation turned a blind eye when
the war was on" He leaned over and whispered to Maria "Relax a
little and remember what you told me Trust the crew and let your
XO give you advice". He squeezed her right shoulder gently and
added "You deserve this Captain".
