Observation Lounge
With the meeting now dismissed and the Lounge about to be used
by Commander Wyman and Lieutenant M'Konel, Brooke decided now
would be a good time to get a start on briefing her department
and also as she was Second Officer she would also be needed to
take command until both the Captain and XO returned to the
Bridge. She stood up from the table and walked to the exit
waiting for her husband to catch up to her.

[B]Observation Lounge[/B]
Jacob stood up from his seat and nodded to Joshua and walked out
to the turbolift. He stepped in and turned around as the door
closed. "Engineering." He called out and the lift began to move.
He wasn't sure if he was gonna be a member of the away team but
he wanted to make sure Engineering was up and running if he had
to leave.
[B]Engineering[/B]
The lift stopped at Engineering and Jacob stepped off the lift
and looked around. He then says to his staff "OK ladies and
gentlemen. We are heading to the Hawking Colony. Last report,
they were under attack by an unknown enemy. Not sure if the
attackers are still there or not. But I want this ship ready for
combat and for anything else we run into when we get to the
Colony. I want engines hot, weapons hot, shields ready and all
systems in their normal operating potentials. Let's get to
work."
He watched as his staff got to work. He now joined them and
waited till he gets a full report to send to Joshua.

Bridge
With Jacob leaving the Bridge for Engineering, Brooke walked
over to the command area and sat down in the centre seat. It
felt strange sitting there as she was used to being at Science
but again it was something she would get used to over time and
as she sat back she thought about the upcoming mission. Losing
contact with the colony was indeed a mystery and she hoped when
they arrived they would get the answers they needed. Until then
all they could do was prepare, speaking of which she looked over
to Ensign Micheals at Science " Ensign, work with the Lab and go
over all of the information we collected on the Colony in case
we missed anything, once we arrive in the system we'll start
running sensor scans" she ordered as without thinking she placed
her hand over her bump.
"Aye Commander" came the reply.
Now that she had briefed Science she looked to the viewscreen
and watched the stars streak by.

Briefing Room
As Joshua left the room, the young 23 year old turned to face
Eli and smiled slightly. "I'm guessing you're one of these
people who like to skip the formalities and cut right to the
chase. Just like you did with the captain. And judging on the
fact that you knew he was joking... and your black irises, I'm
going to take a guess that you're a Betazoid... Or at least part
Betazoid." She finished, her Scottish accent coming out
strongly. "And presuming that you are part Betazoid im going to
guess that you already know what my problem is." Kira looked
into his black irises and smiled at him.

Elihu's black eyes turned hazel; he'd intentionally allowed
Commander Wyman to notice his black irises, but most of the rest
of the crew thought he was only half human, half Vulcan. The
only other person he'd opened up to about his true heritage was
Captain Shepard. "Yes, I'm 1/4th Betazoid, but my Vulcan genes
adds a little...uniqueness to my mental abilities - both good
and bad."
The newly promoted lieutenant sighed and took a step toward her,
interlocking his fingers in front of him. He was not sure how to
approach the situation; her statement seemed to have been
designed to - even if only subconsciously - put him on the
defensive. His grandmother was full Scottish, so he was not
unused to the accent, as well as the strong personality. He
started by projecting emotions of familiarity, trust, and
comfort; she would feel these as if they were her own emotions,
putting her at ease.
"Obviously I've read everyone's record so I know the facts of
the situation that keeps you up at night but...I've been on the
ship for a while now, and you haven't mentioned it once, which I
can only assume means you intend to try to bury the experience.
That never ends well, Commander."

Briefing Room
"I guess I'm one to never show experiences lieutenant. And after
all, how could I talk about something like that to other
people." She sighed and paused for a moment then continued. "The
Triumph was my responsibility as the tactical officer to keep
everyone from harm. How did that end? Some of the crew died on
the ship as it blew up and completely destroyed me for a few
months. I awaited assignment and got put here, with a promotion
to lieutenant commander. I shouldn't have been a lieutenant
commander let alone a commander." She finished.

Rebecca shook her head, "No thanks, but its nice of you to
offer." She took a seat, "There's a lot of changes going down, I
wanted to see how you were doing with it. You know as CMO we
have to keep an eye on our CO's, ensure they're not going to
lose their head because things are a little crazy." The good
doctor smiled, "Plus, it's always good to get out of my office."

Josh laughed. "I bet it is ice water." Josh said to Rebecca
then turned his attention to the replicator. He picked up the
glass and went and sat behind his desk and straightened out his
uniform top. "I'm not going to lie, this promotion came as a
big shock, but i understand. At first i thought it was going
to be temporary but from what Starfleet command it is permanent.
It is a lot to process but i know with Kira's help and with
yours I'm sure it'll make the transition smoother." Josh took
another sip of his water and placed it back on the table. "So
my question to you doctor are you ok with the transition? "

"I don't have any reason to not be okay with it," Rebecca
commented with a mere shrug, "But that being said, you haven't
given me reason to be upset. We'll see how the rest of this
mission goes." There was a momentary pause before she added,
"I'm joking of course." Her laugh was sweet and short, "I'm
excited to be involved and Sickbay, as always, is at your
disposal. If you're feeling overwhelmed or in need of extra
hands, we will do what we can. Plus, my door is usually unlocked
and I'm almost always inside. I have no life outside of sickbay
it seems."
