Jacob looked at Brooke when she asked where to go to first.
"Engineering." He called out to the lift and the lift began to
move. "I figure I get there first so that way I can get things
going down there." He held her hand and smiled.

" Good idea especially if we're heading out again and I'm not
due on the Bridge just yet" Brooke replied smiling back as the
lift started to move. " It also means I get to see you for a
little bit longer" she said reaching up and kissing him gently
on the cheek. It was going to take a little adjustment to their
new positions but she knew they were capable and looked forward
to sharing news of their first shifts when they returned to
their quarters.

Sick Bay
David was stood by bio-bed 1, his focus was on one of the
Security personnel who'd been injured. The Ensign who was bare
foot winced with pain, as the Doctor began his preliminary scan
of her ankle. From what had been reported, she'd tumbled during
a training exercise and landed on her left ankle.
"Well you'll be pleased to know it isn't broken Ensign, just a
bit of a nasty twist." He said looking up into her eyes and
smiling. "I'm going to give you a shot of some of the good stuff
and an anti inflammatory." David said moving to the medical
dispenser and selecting a hypospray. "It'll be sore for a couple
of days, so I am going to recommend light duties for three
days." After filling the hypo he turned back to the patient and
smiled again. "Something seated should be sufficient."
"Thank you Doctor." Came a painful sounding response.
"Not a problem." Booth replied with a wink and gently pressing
the hypo against her left thigh. "And remember, take a little
more care next time, your body will only take so much
punishment."

The lift continued moving till it stopped at the Engineering
deck. He looked at Brooke and said "Well, this is my stop. I
will see you after my shift." He kissed her cheek and head out
down the cooridor.

"You will" Brooke replied before he left the turbolift, she
watched as he walked down the corridor thinking how lucky she
was to still have him by her side and hoped he would have a good
first shift in charge. The lift doors closed and Brooke
instructed it to take her to the Bridge. She was still deep in
her thoughts as it moved up the ship until it came to a stop.
Bridge
The lift doors opened and Brooke stepped out, she walked across
to the science station and relieved the crewman working there.
She immediately accessed the sensors and checked over all
systems satisfied that it all showed green and awaited further
orders.

Sick Bay
When the injured Ensign had made her departure, David checked
the appointments list and saw that an Ensign Edwards was due for
a 12 week pregnancy examination. He rolled it eyes at the
thought of people shirking their responsibilities, it was
something he'd seen a lot of. People thinking either "I'll do it
later." or "It won't happen to me." Well there was one thing for
certain, David was not a chancer and nor would he take a chance
with someone's health.
=/\=Sick Bay to Ensign Brooke Reynolds, you're overdue for an
examination. Could you please report to sick bay and ask for
Doctor Booth, thank you. Sick Bay out.=/\=
The call was not a request and he hoped it hadn't transmitted as
one. The Doctor he worked under while training, Doctor Grant,
had always encouraged him to never leave things open to
interpretation. That was unless it truly needed to be done, in
the Ensign's case it was not needed.

Bridge
Brooke was still running a diagnostic on the main science
sensors when her comm badge chirped reminding her about her
examination, normally she would of not left it late but with her
promotion she had completely forgotten about it until now.
Tapping her badge to respond =/\= Ensign Edwards to Sickbay
understood I'll be there shortly =/\= closing the channel Brooke
stood up and nodded to Cadet Appleyard to take over and headed
for the lift where she called for Sickbay.

Once she was out of the lift she walked along the corridor and
through the main doors into Sickbay she looked around and
spotted a man in teal " Ensign Edwards reporting as requested I
was told to ask for a Doctor Booth?".

Booth turned around at the sound of a female voice and the
mention of his name. A blonde woman in teal was talking to Nurse
Patterson, as it happened he'd just called up Ensign Reynolds'
medical record and recognised her as the blonde woman. Patterson
gestured in the direction of Booth, who in turn moved to bio-bed
three and smiled in the direction Brooke. Then with a hand, he
invited her to come across and sit on the bed.

Brooke thanked the nurse and returned the smile as Doctor Booth
invited her to go over to the bio bed, she went over and sat
down as requested. From his demeanor he seemed to be not like
most doctors she had encountered before and felt immediately at
ease. Now she was here she was looking forward to finding out
how things were progressing and at the same time vowed not to
miss another appointment and could imagine Jacob's reaction if
he found out.

"So Ensign, I see you're three months into your pregnancy?"
David asked taking a tricorder from the side trolley, opening
the device he plucked the scan probe and held it gently over
Brooke's abdomen. Casting his eyes down to face the readings of
the main scanner, he took a mental note of them and looked back
up to the patient. "According to the record, this is your first
pregnancy?"
