Notes for Submitting your Application

If you are having any problems with your application, please do
not hesitate to contact one of the Site Administrators and they
will be happy to guide you through the process.
All current players wishing to create a second character must
ensure they have first met the criteria as stated in the 8th
Fleet rules

Welcome to 8th Fleet!
We are always on the lookout for new members, so if you want to
join, this is the place to start! Please follow the guidelines
below to get assigned to a ship or station and remember that 8th
Fleet rules

Just follow these simply steps to join the fleet:
(1) Register for an account:

register for an account on the forum if you haven't done so
already.
(2) Create an application topic:
Create a new topic within the application board

Name of Character - Reporting In (Date posted)
For example:
Joe Bloggs - Reporting In (5th May 2016)
(3) Create your application form:
Post your application form by selecting, copying and pasting the
following code into your newly created application topic.

(4) Complete your application form:
Complete your application form using the following notes as a
guide.
Character Name:
Name of your character. This must not be the name of a well
known character within the canon Star Trek universe. If you
already created an account with a well known character name,
don't worry as a Site Administrator can change it once your
application has been filed.
Character Age:
How old is s/he on joining Starfleet? (The minimum age is 18)
Character DOB:
Your character's date of birth.
Character Image:
Your character image must be 180x180 pixels in size. A Site
Administrator can help with this step if required. No well known
character images please. For images of celebrities in Starfleet
uniforms head along to STAvatars.com

Character Species:
Only canon Star Trek species

Gender:
Your character's gender.
Character Family:
Mother, father, brother(s), sister(s)
Character Bio:
Include interests, hobbies, family history, reasons for joining
Starfleet etc. Do not include your Starfleet career as this will
be fleshed out in-game.
Previous Role-Playing Experience:
Star Trek or otherwise. Detail any senior positions and forum
responsibilities held (e.g. moderator/admin), as well as any
other character(s) you have on 8th Fleet (if any).
Department Preference:
Flight Operations, Security & Tactical, Engineering, Operations,
Medical, Science or Civilian. (Command is not a department).
Secondary Department Preference:
In the event we cannot accommodate your preferred position
Sample Post:
We require a sample post to check your current posting skills.
It doesn't have to be long, but we will look at creativity,
spelling and grammar, use of NPCs and general Star Trek
knowledge. The content of the post itself is not the main focus
of our assessment of you, but try to keep it reasonable and
within established canon.
Additional information:
For any additional snippets of information you would like to
include that don't fit in any of the above. Including your other
The Other Site accounts, if any.
How did you find 8th Fleet?
For example: through Google, YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Blogger
or recommendation from a friend.
Additional Notes
The information you provide will give us an idea of what you are
like as a poster, and how you will fit into 8th Fleet. All new
recruits to 8th Fleet enter onto the Officer Cadet Training
Programme and begin as rank Cadet I Class. After 50 posts, you
will be promoted to Cadet II Class. At 100 posts, you will begin
your Officer Training Course (OTC) and an Academy Instructor
will be assigned to you. At 200 posts, you will take the final
level of your OTC and upon successful completion, be promoted to
the commisioned officer rank of Ensign.
So, that's it! Now all you have to do is wait for an Site
Administrator reply and give you further instructions. In the
meantime, feel free to browse the rest of the forum and post in
