Josh acknowledged the commander. "Aye, Commander. Ensign
Tyler take over." Josh waited until the ensign took over the
post and walked towards the turbo lift with the commander. He
stepped in and stood to the side and slightly behind her.

Turbolift.
Maria tapped a button on the turbolift and they began to move.
She smiled briefly and took a step backwards.
"You don't have to stand behind me, Mr Shepard." She said
politely just as they reached their floor.
Taking a step out, she walked to the Brig.
Brig.
Stepping into the room, she saw the officer on duty and gave him
a smile, then walking over to the cell their prisoner was in and
read the information on the PADD B'Ozian had given her.
"Assault and homicide." She stated then tipping her head to the
side and back up quickly, "Well, among other things." She said
looking at him straight faced and speaking in a neutral tone.
For a moment, she just looked at him and wondering what he
thought was good about what he had done.
"I'm Commander Sharpe." she said then taking a breath before
finishing "You don't get to make demands here. The Captain
doesn't wish to see you."

Josh stood on the other side of Commander Sharpe as she spoke to
the prisoner. He watched as the Cardassian walked over towards
the force field. The Cardassian looked at Commander Sharpe and
then at Josh. Josh fired back the same stare, as he wasn't
intimidated one bit.

Maria stood for a moment waiting for the Cardassian to respond
but got not as much as a murmur. He just stood the staring at
Joshua and Maria.
Taking a step backwards so she was alongside Josh rather that
right by the shield. Looking to Joshua she said, about the
Cardassian, "I guess he doesn't like it when things don't go his
own way." She wasn't being rude because she didn't like him,
although she didn't, she was just doing it to find out what it
was that drove their prisoner.

Brig
The Cardassian smiled and finally spoke. "I ask for the captain
and he sends me two of his lackies? One of whom a woman? On my
world you wouldn't dare speak to me unless ordered to do so. And
the other a man outranked by a woman. You are a disgrace, you
should be put to death for such actions."
Josh spoke up, knowing not his place to do so with Commander
Sharpe standing next to him. "You asked to speak to the
captain, this is the best you're going to get now either say
what you wanted to say or keep quite until we reach your trial."
The Cardassian laughed. "And what makes you think we're going to
make it to trial."
Josh looked at Commander Sharpe. "Ma'am his presence could be a
trap." Spoken just low enough to where the Cardassian couldn't
hear but Sharpe got the message loud and clear.

Maria listened to the exchanges between the Cardassian and
Joshua and just smiled.
When Joshua spoke directly to her, she just nodded to him and
then spoke to the Cardassian. "Perhaps your people shouldn't be
so sexist then. Men and women are equal as far as I'm
concerned... Also, you're in no place to be making threats.
There is nothing you can do in there." She then turned to Joshua
and said "Since he's not going to tell us what he wanted to say,
we may as well just leave him, am I right?" She finished hoping
that the Cardassian would spit it out knowing that the crew
weren't concerned with any petty threats he made.

Before Josh got to speak the Cardassian made a comment that tang
through both of their ears. "Do you really think this ship is
going to reach your so called trial? What if i told you this
ship is being tracked?
Josh finally spoke up. "I seriously doubt your government would
do anything that could bring them worse luck than what they have
now. What is left of your government is in shambles. Why you
ask, because your defection from the dominion. I don't think
your people want to risk another war this soon."

"Come, Lieutenant, we'll go back to the Bridge, rather than
wasting our time with him." She said, then walking out of the
Brig's door, ignoring more petty comments that the Cardassian
came out with as she did so.

As they walked out Josh asked commander Sharpe "commander I'm
not saying i believe him in what he's saying but what if there's
a slight chance he's right. Can i recommend we go to at least
yellow alert until we reach our destination so we don't get
caught off guard? "

Corridor.
Maria smiled as she heard Joshua's idea and then said "I was
going to suggest the same thing when we got to the Bridge. I
think that would be a wise decision... Like you say, we don't
want any nasty surprises."
Turbolift.
The walk along the corridor was short, and she soon reached the
Turbolift at the end and was ready to select Bridge once Shepard
was with her.
