A little idea of mine (probably someone else already had it but

So, as we are a newbie friendly outfit, I think we should offer
weapon handling and firefight training.
For such a purpose it would be useful if one or more of the
instructors would be enemies to simulate a more realistic
situation and teach something about the other factions weapons
(it also prevents teamkills).
Of course an isolated enviroment is preferable. We don't want
randoms to crash the training.
So I thought the best place for that would be the PTS. There are
very few players online, one can equip everything without
grinding the certs for it first and own stats are not impacted.
So my proposal is to hold certein trainings on the PTS as it
provides an optimal training enviroment.
What do you think? ;D

I can see a lot of pluses when it comes to firefighting, but
there are also a lot of problems.

[li]It's hard to find a place in the world where you won't be
disturbed.[/li]
[li]Also playing on the PTS means people have to download a
whole new version of Planetside 2.[/li]
[li]The best place is probably in the VR, but you can't kill or
die and you only face other NC.[/li]
[li]It might be hard to organise new players, who need the
training most, so that they learn from the experience.[/li]

When I did my LMG-training I wanted to do something like this
but I didn't find the time to actually do it. If we still feel
like we want something resembling firefight training we can try
to teach new players a couple of scenarios that are very common
and make sure that they understand how they will be vulnerable
and also how they can deal the most amount of damage/be
supportive of their team.

maybe 24-48 fights where we can talk to them abut the fight and
what's going on within the fight

The problem with VR is, that it is quite literally just shooting
at dummies. This won't help people to improve in a firefight
because the situation is so unnatural.
The great thing about PTS is the low amount of players, so there
is a smaller chance of others interrupting the training.
The thing with taking them to 24-48 fights is that it becomes
hard to teach them individually, so this should be a higher
level of training after teaching basic combat skills.
Finally, the largest problem, I see with training on PTS is the
aforementioned organizing of the new players to download and
come to PTS.

fireteam training is in the works, but it will be available only
to people that want it.
along with people organizing their own training events to teach
other things which is great as well.
basically- anything beyond private training is non- compulsory
and community organised.
so if you want to train something, run the lecture by me and
pick a date :D
