New vs "gently used"

[font=arial]Hey guys, just got back from riding my 690 to the
North Pole where I fell down to my knees and begged the Universe
for forgiveness. On a more serious note, I see 690 enduro bikes
come up for sale around here that are a few years old (~ 2012)
with very low mileage. Like not even fully broken-in basically
(~ 3500km), they want an arm and a leg for them too! Is it
better to buy new or one of these gently used for let's say 2/3
the new price? Thanks. I'm off, I am heading deep into the
Peruvian amazon to visit my Shaman; He has an enduro too.

Same experience here. Watched the used 690 market since about
2013. Near new and nice versions are priced as you observed.
Some had useful accessories, some had accessories I didn't want.
Then, the lower priced versions were of varying conditions. When
I couldn't take it anymore and had places to go and see, I
bought new.
Hang around, my '17 may be for sale at the end of the year.

We are very fond of your meat because it makes it possible to
get more good things to understand.

I guess I got pretty lucky...I picked up a 2015 KTM 690 Enduro R
with only 2990 km on it at a car dealer in Manila. I got such a
good deal compared to buying new, it was worth flying from Cebu
City to Manila to get it...Then put it on a ferry and shipped it
back to Cebu...I have now done AMP Supermoto Kit, as well as
other mods to it, and I'm very happy with buying a well kept
older model...hope that helps with your decision..
