heidenau k60

Well needed some new rubber. I ride on road 80% , but am not
ready to give up all off road capability. I was debating between
the k60 and k60 scout. the k60 looks like it will be a little
better off road, i was actually leaning towards the scout. found
a deal front and rear k60's on ebay 249. free shipping. could
not beat the price. My stock tires were shot after 800 miles ,
not that i mind running them with low tread but the front end
was suffering from head shake.
So hopefully these will last a while. I will post some pict's
latter.

Yup, my K60s should be here any day now . I got em off eBay as
well. Paid $275 for a pair. Got the 150 rear. I'm sure they're
gonna be a bear to mount, but they should be worth it. I too
ride mostly street, but I'm looking to more off-roading on my
future trips to the Appalachians :P

So I finally got my Heidenau K60s on the ol' Pig.

The rear is a 140. I originally had a 150 on the rear but I
damaged it during installation. These were the toughest damn
tires I've ever had to put on. I actually ended up breaking a
band in the bead of the 150. I tried to make it work, but it
ended up causing the tire to be permanently out of balance. So
that was about $180 down the drain :P
Live and learn I guess :'(

This is a comparison of the old vs. new. My old set were Perelli
MT90 Scorpions. They were 70/30 rated. Really solid street
tires, but not much in the way of offroad. This pic shows both
of them as 150 rears.

The front was WAY easier to put on compared to the rear. I am
very confident with the Heidenau tires on asphalt so far.

How have the K60's been working for you guys?
With my previous KLX650C, I would burn through tires like the
MT21's and a similar Dunlop. Then, I preferred to have a good
edge for off-roading. Still my preference. So, I've done some
cost comparisons the show multiple purchases.

i have 2000 miles on mine , rear is wore off in the middle and
needs replaced, but still good on the hyway. the front is good
for another rear. but as much as i like the rear off road and
on. the front is better suited for onroad . would like to find
a better front, but maybe im expecting to much.
