       Seat won't release
By: sgomes Date: August 26, 2015, 5:42 pm
       ---------------------------------------------------------
Hey guys, just picked up my 2015 690 Enduro, but I can't get the
seat off. I pulled the release loop way harder than one should,
almost to the point of breaking.
       Any ideas?
       Thanks.
       Steve

this diagram shows where the lock is on the bike. not sure if
you can reach in there with something and release the latch..

you can also scroll down this page and there's a pic of the
latch. there's got to be a way to get to it i'd think. good
       luck

Well, upon further review, I doubt you'll ever reach that latch
without some major disassembly. I tried mine just now and it
doesn't hurt to pull up a little on the very back of the seat
when pulling the release cord. It doesn't take much pull to
       release

Wow, thanks again Slap, I'll give it a try. Or, perhaps even
pushing down on the back of the seat to unload the latch
       mechanism might work.
BTW the sticker read just as you said it would for the
       California compliance.

Slap, thanks again. I held the release loop and banged near the
rear of the seat, and she popped right off. Now it releases as
       it should.
Sorry to take so much of your time, but I sure appreciate it.
