Bent radiator; tell me what you think?

I'm interested in riders ideas about the profile of the
rad...asking this because I never did much more than add the rad
braces. So I'm unfamiliar with the correct shape.

further to this....
I removed the rad, had a good look and cross referenced pics on
the net. It was bent but not twisted. I sent to with a rubber
mallet, clamps etc and got a lot of the bend out. I then took it
to a rad shop who pressure tested it. All good.
I can now get the front wheel hard over in a left hand turn
without the front fender hitting the rad louvre.
Things I learned....an ali rad (we have on the 690) cannot be
repaired if holed...you may have a little luck with Devcon...and
its good to have on you for a trail side split. But consider it
a temp fix. If its twisted, you can rarely get it untwisted. No
3rd party aftermarket rads for this bike...OEM only -$$$! Ouch
if its out of warrenty or you holed it on the trail.
Lots of people report the fan wearing thru the rad fins and
holing it. Pop your fan and add a strip of hose, silicon tube on
the meeting edge. Do it before you have a problem. Remember, no
coolant equals no engine!

Its still a little curved down the bottom edge. That's because
the lack of a lower lip stopped me from being able to straighten
that section. I'm happy to say it fits in position great, and is
not noticeable under the rad shrouds and front louvre. Below is
the aftermath of the stack that caused it...the bike came down
very hard after getting airborne and alas a particular rock was
able to bend the rear brake pedal, ding in and pop the engine
cover (glad that was there) and bend the rad (really glad I had
the brace fitted).

I actually live in Western Australia...as far as I can tell no
one over here has the machinery to re curve rad fins. Still
we're kind of lucky us ktm guys....whilst I was in the shop a
Ducati rider was given a quote of $3200 for a new rad! At least
if we've got to get a new one its not that bad.

Hey no problem, a former convict colony is about where I belong!
I've been told that west Oz is remarkably like California if
it's any consolation.
