Video on how to remove rear shocker on the ktm690

HTML https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kEtDUvcFR9g,
IMO definitely
worth watching.
There is a snap lock fuel connector behind the LHS topmost sub
frame screw. To separate the connector halves a button on the
fuel connector must be pressed. On my bike this button was
located on the side of the connector closest to the centre line
of the LHS&RHS of the bike. I found that if the sub frame is
rotated up, as suggested in the video, the battery holder plate
makes destructive contact with the plug at the LHS rear of the
air box and also with the RHS rear corner of the air box. I
found that it is better to remove all screws connecting the fuel
subframe and gentle moving the subframe 2-3 inches to the rear
of the bike so these pipes and cables can be identified. Once
the subframe is reconnected via the top subframe screws, then it
can be rotated upwards whilst observing the possible crush
hazards of the airbox plug and fuel connector.
It is IMO worth filing the battery holder plate to remove/reduce
the sharpness of the metal that makes contact with the airbag
corner and plug.
Reconnecting the two fuel connector halves is also challenging
as there is insufficient slack to drop the fuel pipe down once
the fuel subframe is in its normal horizontal position. I found
it was possible to line up the plug and socket of the fuel
connector during the rotation of the subframe. On completion of
rotation, pressure via two screw drivers can then be used behind
each connector half pushing the two connect half toward each
other until the connector button engages on the other half of
the connector.
This design could be improved!

Thanks for posting that! I see a shock R&R in my future, been
putting it off to long.
