Rekluse EXP 3.0 clutch for the 690
By: Philip Pino Date: February 20, 2015, 10:30 pm

What do you guys think of these clutches? A bit pricey. I've
talked with another friend who has ridden other bikes with the
auto-clutch and he loved them. He also mentioned that it helped
him a lot at stops and starts being vertically challenged, 5' 6"
tall. I'm in the same boat at 5' 7".

I had one on my F800GS and it was priceless in the tight
technical stuff - especially if you were riding all day. It
saved the clutch hand and arm. That said, the F800GS has a
cable clutch.
Three times I've "stalled" my bike in second gear where it's
just about thrown me over the bars. Apparently I didn't have
enough speed for second without slipping the clutch. This is
exactly where the Rekluse comes in to play. It would
automatically engage the clutch to allow continued momentum
without stalling.
You still may want to pull in the lever at lights, but it
wouldn't be required.
If it was priced at the $500 mark I believe 690 owners would be
all over it. I've got too many other mods to consider before
getting the Rekluse. Just need to get more time on the
single-track to find where that "slipping-zone" is while in
second gear - or change sprockets.
If you have the Farkle budget available get it. If you spend a
lot of time in technical terrain, or single track, get it.

I agree with 3Rrr. This is a great mod but considering the long
list of other great upgrades that should/could be done prior
(exhaust, intake, protection, controls etc), I have to place
this lower on the list due to the $750 entry fee. I'd rather
drop the almost $1K for the Vortex before the auto clutch to get
control of the the FI mapping.
However, this is an amazing piece of kit from what I've read and
I'll be getting on as soon as a few of the other expensive-ass
farkles are purchased. They have a great clutch cover as well
but after some quick use of the Google, I don't see it for the
690 though, did I miss something?

The clutch has been out for a while. My friend had the
prototype this past summer and it functioned well - like other
models it was previously designed for.
You can get it direct from Rekluse, or from vendors like Rocky
Mountain ATV, Renazco, etc.

Yeah, sorry I wasn't clear... I've seen/want the clutch, after
some other mods, but I'm it would be great if they made a clutch
cover as well for the 690.

Thanks for the input guys. Price is the only thing stopping me
from this mod. My entire tax return is going to help pay off the
other mods I've already done. I did find that CJ Designs has it
on sale for a whopping $5 less than msrp. I'm So sick of map
pricing.

So has any1 gone ahead and installed the clutch kit? I've never
ridden with one and would like to try one, but agree on the
price issue.

I ordered one from KTMTwins and am awaiting the shipment. I'll
do a write up once I get it installed.

Hey guys, just found this company in the U.K..
HTML https://www.dirtbikexpress.co.uk
. The Rekluse clutch is much
less expensive than buying from a dealer here in the U.S., even
with the exchange rate and shipping. Current exchange rate is
.66GBP/$1. $676.07 shipped. However they are backordered right
now.

Wow. Just got my clutch today. I place the order 3 days ago.
Their site said "pre-order". I assumed it meant backorder.
Very happy with their service. And like my previous post, it
was less expensive than buying it from a US retailer.
