Can you really?

So can you really make this bike into a around the world touring
bike? Seems like it might not be that comfortable after a 800 km
day?

You really can! This summer I have made several trips of 500
miles (about 800 km) in one day on my 690. No, its not comfy
like a Goldwing but it can be done without a big deal. Just get
on & ride!

I think it's totally doable, but you might want to invest in one
of these:

I really want one.

Okay, I surrender. I just emailed Day-Long to see how much the
seat costs.

I'll let you know what they say when I hear back from them.

Here's the answer from Day-Long:
S-2
All Vinyl
$425 $555
Nylon or canvas inserts
$470 $595
Leather inserts
$495 $625
All Leather
$580 $710
You have to send them your seat and they custom build one on
your seat pan. They said the pic I sent them (from Rusty) was a
"Sport Seat" and to just say that's what you want in the
comments. When the time comes, I'm going to just send them
Rusty's pic.

What's with hijacking every thread with the gayest looking seat
I have ever seen?

Technically I wouldn't call it a hi jack since it would aid in a
RTW trip with added comfort in the saddle giving you longer
times between stops and probably increasing safety a bit.
I do agree with you that it doesn't look good, I certainly
wouldn't be interested.
For RTW adventure look up RTW with Noah. He's doing it now on a
690.

Thanks for the Noah site reference. Looks sweat.
I would call it a hijack, this over weight pizza and pop
swilling American doesn't even care about the bike, you could
put a flying broom under that seat ( which his wife probably
rides ) and buddy would be drooling still. That seat belongs in
a lady boy show on Koh San road Bangkok and it should stay there
too. #youWantBoomBoom?
