Some think the suspension is set too soft. Really, I think
there's no perfect factory setting because we are all different
weights--The KTM is very adjustable, so no issue.
ABS is another matter entirely. I don't think I should have to
buy a $150 dongle to permanently disable ABS. Also, to be
useful, the 'front only' ABS mode should distinguish between
forward tire lock and reverse tire lock. As it currently
stands, if you don't quite make it up that hillclimb and grab
the front brake, the current gen ABS won't dig in and you'll
roll backwards out of control.
This is bad, and you'll most likely end up covered in boo-boos.

I've gone down a steep hill, killed the engine and then
restarted without re-engaging the ABS back to off. Can be a
little scary :o and certainly not desirable, but I have always
stopped.

Thats a great point Rusty. The 690 does have a excellent
suspension I think but can accommodate only so much difference
in weight & riding style. I would guess KTM shot for a 200lb.
rider, maybe even a bit heavier. Take a 5' 8" 150lb. guy vs.
some dude who is 6' 6" & 300lb. Then look at how they ride.. The
bike would be set up nice for a light rider for bashing but the
big guy would bottom out easy if he pushed it in rough terrain.
There has to be a big diff in how the bike will handle so if you
are at the extremes in weight & ride style some changes may be
in order.

Some people are just negative and angry.... oh well. I
actually didnt START the 'seat' convo in this thread BTW.
I hope this 'forum' doesn't turn into a bunch of silly keyboard
warriors flaming everybody's posts. Ala : KLR650.net...even
ADVrider get's too full of that.
And this is from the guy who makes a post asking if he should
buy a 990 or a 690 ? (Now I a need help) Great grammar
BTW.... Like they are even in the same category....if you can't
figure that out, maybe you should stop worrying about my drag
queen seat.

Not only do I not 'hijack' every thread....not even close being
I am only ON about 3 different threads. I have only posted my
seat pic twice. It did show up a third time in a picture
posting thread, I guess that's a hijack too? I was very
disappointed that the only orange carbon fiber vinyl I could get
was that shade...BUT, I didn't buy it for looks. Oh, and I
weigh 175 and am 5'10" and haven't eaten junk food in years.
But why would you care, since you are an assuming dick. Funny
thing is, I can (and will be, if you were paying attention)
change my seat.. You Sir....will always be a dick.

Rusty, let me know if /when this forum takes a more positive

us just yet. Especially over what is obviously a child with
690e envy and jealousy issues. (I strongly suspect a pronounced
lack of sexual opportunity) How much do you want for that seat?
Cut me the right deal and I will feed it pet it and call it
George. Errr. I will call it the 'QP - Ru Paul Peenee Breath
Commemorative Edition' in your honor. Just one more question.
Can somebody tell me just who the duck is Ru Paul? I don't seem
to remember him/her/other on last year's Christmas card list.
