690 Enduro Fuel Mileage Reports
By: Rusty Shovel Date: January 5, 2014, 10:29 pm

According to the site below, the 690 is averaging about 50 mpg
(combined). Could save me a bundle over commuting with my
truck. The site, "Fuelly", is worth a look. The EPA estimates
seem to have gotten less accurate in recent years IMHO. This
site called shenanigans on the Hyundai EPA estimates, which
later were proven fraudulent. Hyundai later had to offer all
it's purchasers cash cards to reimburse them.
Anyway, here's the site:

It's funny, some users claim to get 40 mpg and others claim to
get 60. I wonder if the first group goes through tires faster
too? ::)

Brand new bike with about a 100 miles on the odometer..... 320
mile trip I calculated 50.62 mpg. My riding stile was varying
speeds cruising in 5th and 4th and 6th with no wide open
throttle runs and all under 6000rpms. Highway mostly, top speed
around 80 which is 6th gear right at 6000rpm.

I have a 2009 690r. I have been getting a little over 50 mpg.
That is riding on paved and gravel roads.

I've gotten anywhere from 30mpg to 58 mpg. The low end would be
the winter time when I'm warming the bike up for longer
intervals plus all the intermittent stop and go traffic. The
high end comes from filling up and jumping straight on the road
nonstop till she's empty. Most times I'd get around the 45mpg
mark. Hey, that's better than the 14mpg I'd be getting in the
ol' pickup. I figure in the long run, u really don't save a
bunch of $ cuz u burn more tires and u do more oil changes and
you just gotta buy excessive amounts of crap for it. Who cares.
That's what its a hobby. The eends justify the means. :P

Wildly varies between 40mpg and 60mpg on my '14, depending on
how much I'm being a total tool that day. Air up your tires and
putt around in 6th at 45mph all day and you'll see mid 60s on
the new dual-sparkplug engine.
