       Brake pedal bolt recall notice

       Had the recall notice in the mail today for replacement of the
       rear brake pedal bolt.

       Same here, glad it's going to be crappy weather all week. Guess
       I'll have to try to get it into the dealer.

       I had a problem related to this.  When I took 690e in for its
       initial service and inspection, the rear brake spring wuz
       busted.  They dug around and found one a little bit shorter, but
       while they were at it they did the recall replacement of the
       mounting bolt that is too short.  1000 miles later that little
       bit too short spring is still working just fine and I try not to
       get in too much of a hurry to replace that which has proven
       itself to work well.  Morale of the story:  I'd get the recall
       part replaced.  Ain't a big deal, but it'll keep you from
       wearing out your rear brake pads too fast.
