690 single track!

Rode the Durty Dabbers Dualsport this past weekend in central PA
- Met up with fellow forum member 'Dogfarm' Mitch. Great event
- More pics and vids to follow, but wanted to share this one.
The 690 CAN do single track! It is harder than you want it to
be, but it is capable. Of course the video doesn't do justice
to the terrain - it was very hilly. Not sure what the heck
happened at the 4:50 mark - damn squirrel with the trip wire!!
This was a 'Hero' section on day 2. Most of the main route was
wide trails - lots of rocks. I must have past 30 riders fixing
flats.

I will try to post some pics later.

Cool video! I wish the single track in oklahoma were that fun.
Cracked me up when you got pushed into that big rutted line and
exclaimed "oh nooo!" Lol. I could hear that sense of dread in
your voice, played out well though! Good riding.
I've found the 690 to be a good single track companion so far,
as far as OK riding goes. Lol. I put a few videos of mine
running singles in my multiple helmet cam thread I started.

Nice edit! Are you using stock gearing?
I found my stock gearing (15-45)to be way too tall for single
track the other week.

No, I swapped the front to a 14 - helped a little.

Nice vid. I agree with you about the single track stuff...the
690 does it fine, because it's a big bike it just takes more
effort to muscle it around. I even think I prefer the 690 to my
old 300 2stroke. That thing used to deflect off of trail junk
something terrible because it was so light. Fast bike but could
be VERY scary giving it some in the woods.
Dead right too about the hills in the vid....its funny how a
camera always makes things seem flat and pedestrian.....I wonder
why that happens?
