       Hi from Steamboat Springs

I've been "adventure" riding for the last couple of years on a
Yamaha WR250R, but have seen the light. After running out of
power in a few too many places (especially over 10,000 ft), I
traded up to the KTM 690. Have only ridden it home from the
dealership, but can tell already it is in another league from
the Yamaha. I had a Super Tenere that I used mainly as a
touring bike, so traded that in for a KTM 1190 Adventure at the
same time. I do mostly solo backcountry rides, so don't like
taking the big bikes (too heavy to pick up). In the midst of
getting them both set up now.

My place is just a few miles off the COBDR, so give a shout if
in the area. Lots of room to camp and a shop for repairs.

       Welcome to the forum Duk!
That's quite a set-up you have there. Good luck with the
modifications. If it's something we haven't seen, be sure to
take a lot of pictures and share a write-up.
BTW, a fellow 690'er is organizing a ride on the COBDR soon, see
       this:

Nice bikes ! My 2 bike garage (when I can actually afford it)
will be the 690 and the 1190. I thought maybe the 500 EXC
and the 1190 ....but I will see when that time comes...if the
690 will stay as the 'dirt' bike :) for now...my 690 will
become my do it all ADV bike. Congrats on the 2 new babies.
