TPS check with a Volt meter
By: Guymcfly Date: May 31, 2014, 6:16 am
       ---------------------------------------------------------
Hey does anyone know what to set the volt meter at too in order
       to check the TPS?
I saw a couple of how too's on YouTube but the best one is a
dude who is speaking Russian or something so it's a little hard
       for me to follow.
My bike runs great, starts great hot or cold and does not have
an F1 blink code (8 flashes for the TPS error) so am I be
correct in thinking it's all hunky dory?
Reason I ask is I fitted a vortex ecu, and the bike wouldn't
start in the cold of morning! It backfired badly under gas when
I got it going about midday (when it was warmed up a lot). It
looks like the unit will have to go back to the Vortex.
The dude at vortex wanted me to check the TPS setting however.
When I put the stock ecu, and throttle controller back on, it
fired and ran great from first go.

       Found it!
You need a multimeter set to measure voltage. Clip the black
probe to the negative terminal of the battery. Then find the
connector with three wires coming from the TPS.
If your red probe is thin enough, you can push it past the foam
seal around the base of the (blue, I think) wire to make contact
       without disconnecting or stripping anything.
You'll know when you hit the right wire as the voltage will read
~.72v and will rise when you open the throttle. The other wires
will either read nothing, or will read a voltage that doesn't
       vary with the throttle.
